[Am] Hard Day's [E] Night tutorial.
Okay, this one is [G#] a pretty simple one to play.
Two parts to the [C#] song and of course that intro [E] chord.
Much debate about
what is that [C#m] actually that intro [D] chord.
If you go [C#m] googling it you'll find 101 different [D] theories on what it actually is.
[E] I subscribe to the [D#] one that you actually can't play it on one guitar.
It's actually two slightly different chords [E] played on two guitars, but I
play it this [A] way.
Basically, I think it's a D7 or something like that.
So you [D] make a D7 shape then on the third [E] fret on the [Am] first string
slide it up to the third [A] fret.
Basically just [D#] play [E] it from the fifth string [A] down.
Sounds good enough to my ear.
Anyway, [D] if you like it good.
[C#m] Now
two parts [E] you need are just it's just a verse.
The verse and sort of chorus are the same chords [D#] and there's a [D] little bridge bit as well.
[G] So it starts on G and it goes [C] between G [G] C G.
It's been a hard day's night.
Now on the [C] C's [G] you could play a C add 9.
It's actually easier going between G and C add [E] 9 because you're just moving those
fifth and sixth strings just upper set of strings.
So [C#] I tend to do that.
It's much easier.
It [G] sounds much the same.
[F] [Fm] Same with the next chord.
It's an F [Am] or you could play
major 7 [G] and back to the G.
So whatever
you know [D] you find easier or sounds [G] best to your ear.
[F]
[G] Again.
[F]
[G]
[C]
[D] D or you could play it B7.
[G]
G C G.
[E] Okay, and you repeat that again.
[G] G C G.
[F] F [G]
G G C G.
[F] F [G]
G [C] C
[D] D [G] G C G.
All right, [E] the next part you need is just the little bridge [G#] bit when I'm home.
You need a bar chord here, a B minor.
[E] To an E minor.
[Bm] Back to the B minor.
Then [G] a G.
[Em]
E minor [C] C
[D] and D.
[F#]
[E]
[Em] [Bm]
[G] [Em]
[C] [D]
Very hard to sing.
[F#] So just again slowly.
[Bm] B minor.
[Em]
E minor.
[Bm] B minor.
[G] G.
[Em] D minor.
[C]
C.
[D] D.
[G] Then the verse again.
[F] [G] Solo bit in the middle there and it's the same chords again as the verse.
[F]
[G] Okay, and right at the end the outro.
You know I feel alright.
Just going between G and C.
You know I feel alright.
You know I feel alright.
I just end on a G.
Yeah, it's pretty [E] simple.
Straightforward chords.
[C#m] G's and C's and [D#] D's.
But [G] yeah, just that [E] first chord again is the one that sort of [F] everyone identifies the song straight away.
[A]
If you can think of a better way to play it let me know.
I'd be interested.
But it's the way that sounds okay to me.
