[E] [N] Hey guys, you're on with Jeremy Silvers from Music Unlimited.
Today we'll be looking at a song, it's called Jesus at the Center by Israel Horowitz.
So the song is in the key of A major, we all know A [A] major to be A, B, C sharp, D, [E] E, F
[G#m] sharp, G [Dm] sharp, and A.
Play backwards, A, [G#m] A flat, [G#] G [E] flat, E, [D]
D, [C#] D flat, [B] B, [A] A.
Alright?
So the intro of the [N] song is pretty basic, it's just four chords, so I'll play the four chords.
[A] We have A major, then we have B [Bm] minor, [C#] and then we have a bit of an inversion chord,
which is actually, it's an A major but it's an inverted A major where you play the third notes in your triad,
the C sharp, in your bass.
So what you have is [A] this, we have a C sharp in your bass, A, C sharp, E.
Alright?
I'll play that back again for you.
[Bm] [A]
In your final chord you have a D major.
What a lot of pianists do, you hear it in the actual [B] song,
they move between a D major sus, two, and a [D] D major.
It's gonna go a bit like [A] this.
A, [Bm] B minor, that [A] inversion right there, and then [D] you have your D major [D] sus to your D major.
A lot of pianists kind of play it like this, [E] where you have that kind of tweaking going on, the arpeggio.
[A] So you have A, [Bm] [A] [E]
so that bit of intro there is actually the entire verse, well, the entire [G#m] first half of the verse.
So what happens is that it starts the song [A] with those four chords.
It starts the song with those four chords and that then leads into the [F#] entire chorus of the song.
So the song actually starts in the chorus.
If you check the actual song, the recording of the lyrics you see,
it leads into the chorus.
So it goes, and the second half goes [D] from the beginning, [A] to that same arpeggio there on the [D] D major,
[A] to A major, then you go to E major, [E] then F sharp [F#m] minor, [E] then E major, then D [D] major, then you go [E] to E major again.
To the back [D] of you, from beginning, from beginning to [A] the end.
[E] It would always been, [F#m] it would [E] always been [D] Jesus, [C#m] then Jesus, [A] then it goes back to Jesus, [Bm] through [D] it all.
It's the same first chorus you have from the beginning, right?
Okay guys, so after that, that intro [A] there into the first verse, you have your first verse coming right after that.
So what happens is that you play the same first four chords that I showed you, the A major, the B minor, the C sharp inversion.
The inversion right [D] there in the D.
Play it a bit fast, [B] see, that lyric goes, nothing else matters, so you go, kind of move with the words.
[E] [Am] And also you go to B minor [Bm] 7.
[B] Nothing in this world [A] will do.
I know you can kind of play on the A major chord, what a lot of pianists kind of do, they kind of just play the chord in different octaves,
but you [D] can also just play [A] between A major and A major 6, if you want to.
Kind of whatever pianist, if you want to make a big jazz, you can maybe go, I don't know, maybe to 13th or something.
I kind of like to move between the octaves and the A major 6.
So you kind of do that.
So the first goes,
[E] [Bm] you know, to the B minor 7.
[A]
Goes again, Jesus, you're [D] the center.
Then everything revolves on the same B minor 7 [Bm] again, but [A] on the A major.
Jesus, you, A [E] major.
Alright, then it goes back into chorus again, Jesus at the center, so forth.
So after that verse, you go back into the chorus again, and then you play another verse, and then the chorus.
But then there's this awesome bridge part, and the song, the arrangement is pretty okay.
So we have E major starting first.
This is the, from my heart to the heavens part, the bridge, it goes E major.
[F#m] F sharp minor, [A] A major, and then a [D] D major.
[E] From my heart, E major, F [F#] sharp minor,
[A] A major, D [D] major, back to [E] E major.
Now when the music [G#] builds how you play with your band, you want to change the arrangement a bit.
What I kind of do with my church band, we [B] do an inversion on the E major.
So you have a [E] B, E, G sharp, and another B, and then on your bass you have a G sharp.
So you go from my heart,
[F#] [A]
[D] [A] back [E] to E major, then it
[F#] [A] [D]
[E]
goes back to the [A] intro.
[Em]
[E] [A]
[Fm] [Am]
[E] [A]

[E] [N] Hey guys, you're on with Jeremy Silvers from Music Unlimited.

[Bm] [A]
In your final chord you have a D major.

[E] _ _ _ _ [N] Hey guys, you're on with Jeremy Silvers from Music Unlimited.

Play backwards, A, [G#m] A flat, [G#] G [E] flat, E, _ [D]
D, [C#] D flat, [B] B, [A] A. _
Alright?
So the intro of the [N] song is pretty basic, it's just four chords, so I'll play the four chords.
[A] We have A major, _ _ then we have B [Bm] minor, _ _ _ [C#] and then we have a bit of an inversion chord,

So what you have is [A] this, we have a C sharp in your bass, A, C sharp, E.
Alright?
I'll play that back again for you.
_ _ _ [Bm] _ _ [A] _
_ In your final chord you have a D major.
What a lot of pianists do, you hear it in the actual [B] song,
they move between a D major sus, two, and a [D] D major.
It's gonna go a bit like [A] this.
A, _ [Bm] B minor, that [A] inversion right there, and then [D] you have _ _ _ your D major [D] sus to your D major.
A lot of pianists kind of play it like this, _ [E] where you have that kind of tweaking going on, the arpeggio. _
[A] So you have A, _ _ [Bm] _ _ [A] _ _ [E] _
_ _ _ so that bit of intro there is actually the entire verse, well, the entire [G#m] first half of the verse.
So what happens is that it starts the song [A] with those four chords.
_ It starts the song with those four chords and that then leads into the [F#] entire chorus of the song.
So the song actually starts in the chorus.
If you check the actual song, the recording of the lyrics you see,
it leads into the chorus.
So it goes, and the second half goes _ [D] from the beginning, _ [A] _ _ to that same arpeggio there on the [D] D major,
_ [A] to A major, _ then you go to E major, [E] _ _ then F sharp [F#m] minor, _ [E] then E major, then D [D] major, _ _ _ then you go [E] to E major again.
_ To the back [D] of you, from beginning, from beginning to [A] the end.
_ [E] It would always been, [F#m] it would [E] always been [D] Jesus, _ _ [C#m] then Jesus, _ [A] then it goes back to Jesus, _ [Bm] _ through [D] it all.
_ [E] _ _ _ _ [Am] And also you go to B minor [Bm] 7.
_ _ [B] Nothing in this world [A] will do.
_ _ _ _ I know you can kind of play on the A major chord, what a lot of pianists kind of do, they kind of just play the chord in different octaves,
but you [D] can also just play [A] between A major and A major 6, if you want to.
Kind of whatever pianist, if you want to make a big jazz, you can maybe go, I don't know, maybe to 13th or something. _ _ _
_ I kind of like to move between the octaves and the A major 6.
So you kind of do that.
So the first goes, _ _
[E] _ _ _ _ [Bm] you know, to the B minor 7.
_ _ [A] _ _ _ _ _ _
Goes again, Jesus, you're [D] the center. _
Then everything revolves on the same B minor 7 [Bm] again, _ _ but [A] on the A major.
_ _ _ Jesus, you, A [E] major.
_ _ _ Alright, then it goes back into chorus again, Jesus at the center, so forth.
So after that verse, you go back into the chorus again, and then you play _ another verse, and then the chorus.
But then there's this awesome bridge part, and the song, the arrangement is pretty okay.
So we have E major starting first. _
This is the, from my heart to the heavens part, the bridge, it goes E major. _
_ _ [F#m] _ _ F sharp minor, [A] A major, and then a [D] D major.
_ _ _ [E] From my heart, E major, _ _ F [F#] sharp minor, _
[A] A major, D [D] major, _ _ _ back to [E] E major.
_ _ Now when the music [G#] builds how you play with your band, you want to change the arrangement a bit.
What I kind of do with my church band, we _ [B] do an inversion on the E major.
So you have a [E] B, E, G sharp, and another B, and then on your bass you have a G sharp.
So you go from my heart, _ _
_ _ _ [F#] _ _ _ [A] _ _
_ [D] _ _ [A] _ back [E] to E major, then it _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [F#] _ _ _ [A] _ _ [D] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [E] _ _
goes back to the [A] intro. _ _ _ _
_ _ [Em] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [E] _ _ [A] _ _ _
[Fm] _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [E] _ _ [A] _ _ _
[Fm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
