Hi, this is TJ with Piano Clubhouse.
Today I'm going to show you
[Bb] Praises What I Do
by Shekinah Glory
Featuring Elder William Murphy.
Song is in the key of E flat.
E flat has [Ebm] three accidentals.
[G] E flat
[C]
[F] [B]
[Gb] Song really doesn't have much of an [Bm] introduction.
It kind of starts out right with the soloist
[Gb] but of course in the event you need to kind of play something to kind of of course get the key set or
Just kind of play a prelude before the song goes you can just play something simple
Like [Eb] just E flat in the left hand
Play that fifth if you want the B flat [Gb] right hand
Just kind of [Eb] ride on the E flat major chord
E flat G and B flat
You can kind of progress up to [Abm] this
A flat major chord.
E flat A flat B back [Eb] down to the E flat major
[Abm]
[Eb]
So you kind of see I'm kind of just playing
[E] Just two notes at a time.
Just kind of running
[Gm] Just kind of playing around with the [E] notes in the E flat major chord
Playing that augmented fifth as well
[F] [Ab] Run a single melody
[Eb]
[Bb] [Abm]
[Eb]
[Bb] [Abm]
Or run a double melody like I showed you before
[Eb]
[Abm]
[F]
[Abm]
[Bb] [Eb] So
You kind [E] of just ride that when you need to when the song gets ready to start
[Gb] The soloist sings through the verse
In fact, let me just show you what we're doing and the most of the chords are doing for the soloists are pretty much exactly
the same as we're doing for the
[E] Choir comes in there's a few differences and I'll explain those to you when we get to them
But for the most part they're going to be the same
So let's just [B] start out with the I'll show you the solo and show you the differences as we get to them.
So
[Eb]
So praise [B] is what I do left hands [Eb] gonna start on the E flat and B flat
[Ab] Right hands gonna start out on an E flat [Eb] suspended chord E flat A flat and B flat
And then you're gonna pull this a flat [Eb] down to G
Because we're gonna run the [Ab] melody
[Bb] So we want [Gb] to hear that in your chords what we're gonna [Eb] do
We're gonna start off with this spindle and this middle finger is gonna
Start the melody
And then you're gonna continue the melody here
[Gm] Then we left hand goes to G right hand goes to F [Eb] B flat and E flat
Okay, [F] this is the right finger right here is continue the melody.
We should have heard
[G]
[Bb] [B] You should have heard that in the midst [Eb] of the chords
[Gm] right [Eb] hands on this 2 5 1 [B] chord
I call it the 2 5 1 chord [Bb] because it's the second note of the scale
The fifth note of the scale [Bb] and the first note of the E flat major scale
It's a really universal chord that can fit with in a lot [Gb] of different songs in a lot of different places
[Eb]
[F] [Gm] [Eb]
[Ab] [Cm] Right there
[F] [Ab] Left hands going a flat B [C] flat C
Right hands going a flat [Ab] major
E flat a flat C
[Bb]
B flat major F B flat D E
[Cm]
flat major in the right over C G B flat E flat
Okay, next
[Bb]
left [Cm] hand shifts back [Eb] down to the
B flat right hand [Bb] rotates
to this B flat major chord E
Left hands gonna stay on B flat while the right hand finishes the progression one more [Cm] time
[Bb] Right hand goes to a flat [Ab] major
[Gm] Then to a G minor D G B flat [Fm] down to a F minor
C F A flat and the left hand is still [Bb] staying on this B flat
[Eb] And then the last chord left hand goes to E flat of B flat right hand plays an E flat major chord
We played an octave higher so you kind of hear it a little bit better
[F] [Eb] [Gm]
[Bb] [Cm]
[Bb] [Gm]
[Eb] [Fm]
[Bb] Okay, then the turnaround
[Fm]
Left hands on F [Bb] then B flat right [Fm] hand is on
This A flat major [Gm] seventh [Fm] G A flat C E flat
[Bb] Then you just lift up the G lift up the C add that B flat and we're back to the E flat suspended
over B flat, okay
[F]
beginning
[Eb] [Gm]
[Eb] [Ab] [Cm]
[Bb]
[Gm] [Bb] [Eb] [Bb]
[Fm] [Bb] [Eb] [F]
[Ab] [Bb]
[Cm] [Bb]
[Fm] [Eb]
next
