[E]
So I don't [C#m] feel, I feel like not a lot of people realize that there's like an electric
guitar in here, [E] but it's there in the [F#m] background.
It's just behind this acoustic guitar, you know.
[E]
[A]
[E] So where I got those chords, at least the initial chord, I'm a big John Mayer fan, so.
[A]
[C#]
[Am] [Em]
[B] That kind of [B] just turns into,
[E]
[F#]
[A]
[E]
so it's a one to the six [F#m] to the two [A] to the five as a resolution.
[E] The chords are E major seven, [N] C sharp minor nine, [F#m] F sharp minor seven, [A]
and a resolution
to the B for anybody who is interested in the theory part of it.
So yeah, I just stuck it into Logic.
[B]
And usually the first thing I always do is that I [C#m] throw a kick in there, like at least
a kick in a, like a kick in a snare.
[F#]
[F#m] [E] [C#m] This is where I thought that I wanted it to sound a little more full, so I added the,
[E]
you know, the electric guitar.
This [B] is actually, the preset is [C#m] called 80s clean, so it's going to be a throwback to
that kind of sound.
It's got like a flanger, I guess, [F#] some chorus, [F#m]
[C#m] and then we're going to go ahead and [E] toss
these like spacey bells in there,
[E] so that we have like a melody line going, you know.
[C#m]
Add the bass, [F#m]
[F#] the same little vocal sample that's beaten to death.
[E] Get some chimes, get a little open hat.
[C#m]
And we panned open hat in these like triplet hats over to the side, so that we get [F#m] like
a broader kind of feel, you know.
[F#]
And some rhythm kind of [E] sticks, like perks, to add some like groove to it.
And of course the hats, you know.
[C#m] I actually like, if you want to come over here and see, [F#m] like, the hi-hat pattern, I
literally like draw them in, [F#] like I do every single one like manually.
And it's a pain in the ass, but I get to have like full control, you know.
I guess [E] I just haven't found out a better way to like produce them, you know.
[C#m]
But yeah, that is, you know, [F#m]
that is T-Synth.
And it kind [F#] of started out like this, and once the beat was made, you get this kind
of rhythm going, you know.
Go.
[E] I drank too much, got the sickness.
Da da da da da da da da [C#m] da da.
And the rest is kind of history.
You kind of just add in, take away from there.
[F#m] So,
[F#]
[E]
drank too much, got the sickness.
Pray to God, I'll miss all of it again.
[C#m] Same cruel world, another mistake.
Every day, every night, getting [F#m] wasted.
But I miss you, what did I do?
Fuck it up, laugh it off, [F#] and I lost you.
If I'm going through, is it too soon?
Turn it up, close my eyes, and I'll be.
[E] Drank too much, got the sickness.
Pray to God, I'll miss all of it [C#m] again.
Same cruel world.
I think that's good.
[N]
[E]
