_ [E] _ _ _ [N] Hey, what's happening?
Andy Collins with you for another nailguitar.com lesson.
Today we're
taking a look at Travis McCoy, billionaire, good fun, reggae, lots of cool things happening
in here, lots of bar chords as well.
So, what I'm doing is splitting this up into two halves.
I'm going to get you going with all the essentials, the chords and the basic groove in the first
half, then I'll show you how to put a few spices and extra stuff on there if you're
a little more experienced for the second half.
Now, you heard me there jamming along
at the start with some drums.
You can get those as well completely free, gimmedrums.com.
There's a link below to get them.
And with that, you get a pack of 10 free drum grooves
and there's nothing like solid drum grooves to get your playing super, super tight and
that's exactly what you want.
So, I highly recommend you get those down there.
Now, the
freebie that I've got for you that is really essential for this, will help you out a lot,
is the chord chart to follow through.
I've just written this out just now, especially
for you to download and follow through with me and that's going to make this lesson a
whole lot easier.
So, let's kick in.
We're up on the 5th fret here and we've got an A
major bar chord.
So, 5th fret and then using like this E shape on the top of it.
I'm going
to assume that you know these bar chords.
If you don't, you can check out the links
that I've got over to Nail Guitar Skills, my other channel which will help you with
all your skills there.
[A] So, A major and we're going to get that for [F] 4.
But here's what we're
going to do.
We're going to do something a little interesting for our groove.
We're going
to get [E] a mute to start with.
So, we're going to get mute, strum, mute, strum, mute, strum,
mute, strum, 4 of those.
So, _ _ _ [G#m] you count those as the ends.
[A] 1 and 2 and 3 and [E] 4 and_
Feels
kind of good to do that.
It's just got really light groove to it.
So, that's what you're
aiming for, nice and light.
_ _ Great.
From there, we're going to move that up to C sharp [G#m] 7 which
is up there on the 9th fret.
All you're going to do is take away your 4th finger.
Same idea,
4 strums, 3, 4, [C#] mute, strum.
_ [A#] Cool?
Then we're going to move that down a string but add our
4th back on and get F sharp minor.
Same again, [F#] 3, 4 and [F#m] _ [E] then down to E.
So, we're going to
go to E which is going to be on the 7th fret with our barred 3rd finger there.
Same deal
again.
_ _ _ Great.
From there, we can put them all together.
[A] So, A, [C#] C sharp [F#m] 7, F sharp minor,
E.
[E] Try putting those all together with me.
We'll go a little slower to start with than
the original song.
3, 4, [A] _ _ _ [C#] C sharp minor 7.
No, not minor.
[F#m] F sharp minor.
Down to [E] E on
the 7th. _
[A] I want to be a billionaire.
_ [C#] _ _ _
_ [F#m] Censored.
_ [E] _ _ _
Great.
If you got that so far, you've got
the initial groove and a lot of the chords that are going on in the song.
So, from there,
we move on to the chorus section.
There's our verse done.
From there, we're going to
have D [D] on the 5th fret, D major.
[E] So, same as our E shape and then E and [F#m] then back up
to F sharp minor.
[G#] So, the 5th fret, 7th fret, 9th fret.
We're going to get 2 beats on D.
2 [D] _ [E] on E. _
4 on F sharp [F#m] minor.
_ _ The second time, [G#] we'll put it all together.
3, 4, [D] D, E, [E] F sharp
[F#m] minor. _
_ [G#] From here, we do the D and the E again.
[D] _ [E] _
Here's where things get a little interesting.
We [A] move our major shape up to the 12th fret.
We're going to get that for one strum.
Then
from there, we're going to move that down one, just the 1st finger though.
So, you're
going to get a bit of a stretch there.
I remember that being an absolute pain the first
time I played it all those years ago.
Eventually, you get there.
It's not so much a stretch
as it is a posture thing.
So, really work at working at how to get your hand there if
you have any troubles with it.
So, A, first goes down, F sharp [F#m] minor again, then down
to E major on the 7th.
[A] Cool.
So, we got_
_ [E] _ Cool.
Then from [Bm] there, down to D for 4 _ _ and
back [G#] to your C [C#] sharp 7.
_ _ _ [N] Sweet.
There we are.
And then the drum fill without _ that.
Okay.
So, what have we got?
There's our verse, there's our chorus.
From there, we have the tag which
is going to be_
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [E] _ _ _ [N] Hey, what's happening?
