Welcome to the lesson video tutorial here for Misty written by Errol Garner.
This is a chord melody kind of in the style of Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Grant Green maybe,
but you'll hear a lot of different things.
Some that I'll be utilizing a lot of grip shapes so it's not terribly hard to play but
it's really pretty.
Got a lot of two fives in here.
It's got a lot of great stuff.
And for soloing we can use a lot of our two five licks that we did in the last video on Satin Doll.
We could use our blues pentatonic ideas from the blues review and some of the gypsy jazz ideas.
I'll try to demonstrate that in the second chorus.
First chorus I'll do the chord melody and then second chorus I'll improvise and then
last chorus I'll play the chord melody out.
So again if you need help with those grip shapes go back and review the lesson on YouTube
that says 7th chord grip shapes on my page.
Thanks for watching.
Here we go.
