Start Jamming...
I get asked a lot about my gear, so I want to just give you a brief tour of what I'm playing today.
I'm playing my Strat 56 Relic Custom Shop.
It's pretty much straight forward.
I just put heavier frets on it.
The pickups are Fender pickups.
I overwound the bridge pickup to make it a little thicker.
I use pretty heavy strings.
I use the Daria strings, 11 set.
The top string is a 12 and the bottom string is a 48.
The rest is a set of 11, the Daria.
I tune regularly to E.
I don't tune down or anything like that.
The amp is a 73 Marshall head, 50 watt.
I love that my tech, Zeve Nagari, he takes care of all my rigs.
He basically modifies it and makes sure it sounds great.
Then it's plugged into the Ultimate Attenuator to just make sure that I'm not going to blow my head off with the volume of the head.
I'm sitting pretty close to the amp right now.
Then I'm plugging it into a 4x12 Batcat cabinet with 4 Greenback 25s.
I use the 2.0 Line 6 Pod just as a direct signal for safety.
I use it a lot actually.
I really like the sound of it.
I get asked a lot about my pedals, so I'll give you a brief look at that.
I'm plugging my guitar straight into an Exotic Pedal Robotalk.
It's got this envelope filter [Ebm] thing.
[C] And then an arpeggiator.
From there I'm just going to a regular Crybaby WOD that my tech, Zeve Nagari, modified.
[F] [Eb]
From there I go to a Fultone Octafuzz.
[E]
From there I go into an LA Sound Design buffer.
It's just a buffer basically, with ins and outs.
From there I'm going into an Exotic RC Booster.
It's just a very clean boost.
Just boost it a little bit.
From there it goes to the Blackstone.
That's another boost, a little heavier.
Then the Tube Screamer 808.
[Em]
Out of that I'm going to this thing called an Atomic Overdrive by XTS.
A guy in Dallas, a friend of mine, Greg Walton, makes these really great pedals.
[E] This pedal is really great.
It's just a really heavy distortion.
It's something that's really hard to get from a pedal, but this thing sounds great.
This is the booster part of the pedalboard.
From here on it goes to all these quirky effects.
I have this really fast tremolo, the Tremolator by Demeter.
[C]
From there it goes into an MXR Phase 90.
[E]
Out of that it goes to a stereo down-low tremolo.
Then into a DLS effect Rotosim.
That's like the [Cm] Leslie simulator.
[Bbm] [Abm] [G]
Then [Am]
it gets back into the buffer and coming out into a DD7 by Boss.
DD7 Delay pedal.
That pedal is always on.
It's just a slap
[C] that I keep on all the time.
From the Boss DD7 I'm going into the M13 Line 6 Stompbox Modeler.
