_ [A#m] _ Hey guys, welcome back.
So today we're gonna do [Bm] something just a little different.
We're gonna do a lick breakdown.
So a lot of you guys saw the video from last week
and had a couple questions about the walk downs
I was doing with the chords.
_ So we're gonna take a listen
and then we're gonna break it down.
So here's the first little clip.
_ _ [E] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [B] _ _ [A] _ _
[G] _ _ _ [C#m] _ [B] _ All right, so we've discussed these ideas before
with connecting chord inversions.
So let's start there.
We're in the key of E
and I'm walking down from the four to the flat three.
So the E, well, in the key of E, the four is A.
So we're going from A to G, A to G.
We're just playing multiple inversions of that.
So let's break that down.
I'll play it first. _ _ _
[A] _ _ _ [G] _ _ [E] _ _
All right, so let's break it down.
_ So I'm starting with just a basic E7.
_ _ _ _ _ _ [A] _
Then I go to A. _ _ _ _ _
And so from here on out, we're just going from A to G,
A to G.
So the A, _ same shape, we're gonna go down to G.
[G] _ _ _ _ Now we're gonna do A [A] again.
_ _ _ _ [G] _
G, _ [A] A, _ _ [G] G, _ _ _ [A] A, _ and [G] then G.
_ _ [E] So at the end, I do a little hammer-on
to get back to that one, to this E.
So I'm going from that G.
[Em] _ _
[G] _ _ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [A#] _ _ All [B] right, so I've just showed you the full chords,
but I'm really just playing up in that higher register.
So I only plan _ starting off with the top two strings
to be an E. _ _
_ _ [A] _ _ [Em] _ _ And now the top three, [A] so G, B, and E.
And _
[G] now [G#] the middle three, [B] so _ D, G, [A] B.
_ [G] _ _ [B] _ _ _
[F#m] _ _ _ [G] _ _ _ [A#] _ _
_ _ Cool, so now let's take a listen to that second [C#] example.
[E] _ _ [B] _ _ _ _ [G] _
_ [G#] _ _ _ [F#m] _ _ [A] _ _
[F#] _ [Bm] _ _ [A#m] _ _ All right, so that's pretty much the same idea.
So now we're gonna start with the E9.
_ [Bm] _ _
[A] _ A.
_ G.
[G] _ _
_ [F#m] _ _ [Em] _ _ _ [D#] Pretty much [F#m] A13.
_ [C] Well, that 13 really [A] looks like this.
_ _ And then I resolve into a nine, so [C#] A9.
_ _ _ [C] But we're just playing the middle three strings.
We're playing that D string, the G string, and A string.
[F#m] _
_ _ _ _ _ [Em] _ _
So keep that same shape and move it down.
_ _ _ Here's the whole [A#m] idea.
_ _ [A] _ [G] _ _ _ [Em] _
_ _ [E] _ _ _ All right, cool, so very [N] simple ideas,
but you can see how advantageous it could be
if you just learned to link
those different inversions together.

I'll see you again next week, thanks. _ _ _ _
[Em] Oh, oh.
