[Ab]
[Eb]
[Db] How's
[Ab]
[Eb] [Ab]
it going everybody?
This is Andy Pimmins and we're sitting in the infamous [Eb] Zin Zin [Ab] Bistro here in [Db] McKinney,
Texas.
And I'm [Eb] here to talk about my brand new [Ab] guitar.
It looks a lot like my old guitar because there's many [Db] similarities, but it's called
the AT [Eb]-10 SB.
[A]
[G] [A]
And [Ab] the reason this guitar [C] came about was, [F] if we talk about the [Db] AT-100, [Ab] the main point
of that guitar [Eb] was it to be [Fm] exactly like my [Bb] original AT-100 that was built [Db] for me in 1994,
and [D] it's been my main guitar ever since.
[Bb] So Ibanez [C] approached me about doing a [Ebm] signature model.
My main thing was if I'm going to have a signature model guitar, [Ab] it has to be exactly what I play.
And so due to that, I didn't want to cut any corners anywhere, so we ended up with an exact
replica of the AT-100 that I've always [B] played, but it was [Ab] very expensive to make.
And that was the only [B] complaint I ever had about the guitar.
People love the guitar, but [Ab] it's so expensive.
So [F] Hoshino approached [Ab] me about, well, we have maybe some ways of making a guitar of that
quality and maybe we can make it for a little [Bm] less.
[Gbm] [E]
The main part about the AT-100 [A] has always been the neck shape, the neck feel.
[E] And as soon as I picked up this, this was the first [A] prototype that we had, and I couldn't
believe how [E] right they got it.
And the frets are dressed on the edges to make it [A] nice and smooth.
Feels like a nice, well-rounded, [E] old vintage neck, basically.
[A]
It still has the DiMarzio pickups, my signature [Gb]
AT -1 humbucker, [B] and then two DiMarzio cruisers.
So same [G] pickups.
The [B] two essential differences, which aren't huge, are the tuners [A] are different [Em] and the
actual [G] Wilkinson bridge.
[A] The bridge that I normally use is kind of a modern design on the old [F] Trimolo system,
but this has [G] more of a vintage-style saddle.
[Gb] But [E] I'm kind of realizing I like it a lot as well.
[Bb]
[C] [Dm]
[D]
[Bb] [A] So why don't I [Db] take a moment and kind of [Ab] run you through a few of the different tones that
I get with the AT-10.
[Bbm] I'll just start you on a clean sound.
[Ab] So I do a lot of [Gbm] stuff on the neck pickup.
[E]
[Abm] You know, the cruiser is a bolder [Bb]
[E] tone than a single coil, but it has a little bit of
that [D] personality of the vintage.
[B]
[Ab]
[Bb] So that's just the [Db] neck pickup.
If I use the middle [Gb] position, [Bm] [G]
you get some of that out-of [Am]-face kind of sound.
It's these two pickups [A] together.
[G] [D]
[A]
Middle pickup, [B]
[Gb] [Am]
[Eb] [Cm]

[Bm] [E]
[Bm]
[E] [Bm]
[E]
[A] Clean sound with the humbucker, which is not normally [Gb] a sound I use that [E] much, but
[D]
[C]
Actually, I think I like that better with these [Gbm] particular saddles.
It's got a nice [G]
sound to [E] it.
[Ab] Now let me put a little bit of gain on there, and [Fm] I'll go back to the [Bb] two most common positions
I use on my guitar.
It's always been [Gb] the neck and the bridge [Abm] pickup.
[D]
[B] [Dbm]
[E] That's with my BB pedal on the [Dm] clean channel.
[A] [E]
[Bm] [B]
[Gb] [E] [B]
[E] [A]
[Bm] [G]
It has [Gm] a nice [Ab] beefy tone to it, but still a [F] lot of clarity.
My lead channel for the bridge [Bbm] pickup, I might dial a little bit of the [E] tone up.
[Bm]
[Eb]
[B] [Gm]
[Gb]
[G] [E] Okay, [G] [Gb]
[Db] [E]
[Db]
[Em] [D]
[G] [A]
[Db] [B]
so that's [Db] really the main two tones I use on this guitar.
But in the studio, [E] sometimes I'll use some of the out-of [Ab]-face positions.
That's it.
[D] [A]
Well, [B]
[D] [Am]
[G] [Am] [G]
[D]
there you have it.
[G] It's the AT [Fm]
-10SB.
I hope you get a [F] chance to check it out.
I'm very proud [Bb] of this guitar, [Db]
as [Gb] I am with all the projects I've done with Ibanez over the years.
Anyway, thank you for listening all these years, okay?
We'll see you next [D] time.
