[C] [E]
[C] I lived a long time in San Francisco and I sang in a nightclub and that was the beginning
of the deterioration [Cm] of, that's when I started getting [D] into drugs and that kind of stuff.
Even [G] though I knew it was wrong, I didn't have the strength or the power to come against that.
I [D] lived on Haight [G] Street.
[G#] It was during the time when [C] flower power was going on.
I remember one day I was walking [F] down Ashbury [C] Street and I was looking at all [F] the people
that were in all these different [G#] kinds of [C] storefronts and go through these stores and
you see people just strung out and looking for [G#] the truth.
It was so visible to me that they didn't have the truth, but yet I didn't have the truth.
[Fm] It took about two years [F] of going through this stuff within myself [C] before Bach, who is my
husband now, shared Jesus with me.
What he said was simply this, [B] that you must [C] be born again to enter into the [Cm] kingdom of God.
[C] At that point in my life I was at the absolute bottom of anything within myself that was
[G] of any value, had been ripped [C] away, had been stolen, I had given it away and there was
nothing left in me.
I thought there's [Cm] nothing good in me.
I could never enter into the kingdom of God unless I am a new creature.
It [F] made sense to me.
I'd never [Cm] heard that saying, being born again.
It was just [C] bigger than life.
I thought that's what I want, but I didn't know how to do it.
I went through a real wonderful time.
It would take me 25 years to tell you the story of how Jesus entered into my life.
[Cm] One of the things that he told me was [C] that he wanted me to give my life to him and that
he wanted to live through me.
He said, all these other religions want you to [Cm] become like God, become as God and live
your own [Gm] life.
He said, but [C] I want your life and I want to live through you.
Because I was in music.
I lived in Hollywood at the time and I was doing commercials and I was involved with
one of my other sisters in a group.
We had record companies after us.
We had contracts and all those kinds of [G] things.
The Lord told me, he said, either you can have everything you've ever wanted, [D] everything,
fame, money, [B] everything, or you can have me.
It was simply [E] that.
He didn't say you can [B] have me and I'll do all this stuff for you.
He said, or you can have me.
I said, Lord, after seeing you, I [E] don't want anything else.
[B] [A] [C#m]
I will [F#m] stand and [B] look into the eyes of my [A]
[E] Redeemer.
Words of love.
[G#m]
[B] Deep [A] inside my [E] silent
[F#m] accolades, [E]
I'll [B] find my voice to sing of [E] my Redeemer.
[C#m] [F#]
When [B]
[E]
[G#m] whispers [C#m] of love, [E] he spoke and pulled [A] my dark soul [F#m] from the night.
[E] [B] How [C#m] can I [B]
repay him [E]
with his wounded [C#m] hands [B] to heal my broken [A] heart?
To [F#m] understand,
[E] [B] I'm never [C#m] [B]
