_ _ _ Okay, _ song you always wanted to learn, _ _ Aqualung.
Actually this is just the
acoustic part of it so the other part I have to do in another lesson.
It's a lot
harder.
_ So the the acoustic part of Aqualung by Jethro Tull, you're gonna
start off with an E minor.
_ So you take _ behind the second fret on the fourth and
fifth strings.
That's an E minor.
And you strum all six strings. _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ And then [E] it's a D
which is like that little triangle I showed you [N] _ right here. _
_ Behind the second
fret on the first string. _
The third fret on the second string and the second
fret _ on the third string.
And you strum the bottom four [D] strings. _ _ _ _
Okay so E [Em] minor
_ _ _ [D] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ and the next one is _ an A _ [Gm] major.
_ Start off with your _ [N] your pointer
finger and put it on the third string behind the second fret.
And then _ behind
the second fret the two strings right next to it on either side of it.
That's
an A.
You're gonna have one two three.
You're gonna have the finger on each of
these strings right here behind the second fret _ [A] on the bottom on the second
third and fourth and then you strum the bottom five string.
_ Okay so E [Em] minor.
_ _ _ _ [D] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [A] _ _
_ _ Now
from there you're gonna go to an A minor _ and it's not that hard to do.
It's a _
your pointer finger is on the second string behind the second fret behind
the first fret and then these two fingers are going to go behind the
second fret on the next two strings which are the third and fourth and [F#] then
you strum the bottom five strings.
[Am] _
_ _ _ That's an A minor.
It went [A] from an A major to an A [Am] minor. _ _ _ _
_ _ And those are the four chords you're going to use.
So here's how it goes.
_ [Em] _ Starts in E minor. _
_ _ [D] _ D. _ _ _
_ _ [A] A.
_ _ _ [Am]
A minor.
_ _ _ Then it goes [Em] back to E minor [E] and D.
So [Em] it's those
four chords and then E minor and D one more time.
Okay so here goes. _ _
_ _ [D] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [A] _ _ _ _ [Am] _ _
_ _ [Em] _ _ _ _ [D] _ _
And when you sing Aqualung [E] you always have to do it in a British accent
because Ian Anderson is British and if you don't do it in a British accent it
don't sound good.
[Em] So if you're gonna sing it goes.
_ Aqualung [D] my friend, _ don't you start away [A] uneasy.
_ [Am] You're poor old sod, [Em] you see it's only [D] me.
A _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ little part at the end.
_ A lot of people do that when they have a D and they just
lift up that that middle finger which is on the bottom on the first string.
_ _ That's
how you get that effect. _ _
Everybody does that so if you want to look like you're
cool _ just play a D and then give it one of those. _ _ _
_ [N] So everybody thinks you know
what you're doing.
Okay so that's the entire acoustic part of it and then
there's a part where [Em] it where it speeds up.
Do you still [D] remember _ Simba's [A] foggy
freeze?
[Am] When he asked to [Em] come down to your [D] beers was screaming.
It's the same [F#] chords it's
just speeds up for that little part right there.
And that's it.
Good luck if
you're a Jethro Tull fan.
You got to know how to play this one.
