[Em] [C] Hi there.
I want to [E] show you my arrangement of Yesterday.
Now this [Am] song needs no introduction.
Everybody in the world has heard [Em] it several times.
[Db] I've heard it's the [C] Beatles' most [Ab] [Am] valuable copyright.
[D] [F]
Now the song [C] is just a beautiful song, you know, it was just [E] guitar.
Paul did it in the key of F, although he tuned his guitar down a whole step so [Am] he could use G [E] chords.
[Db] I think that's how [D] it goes.
[F] That's the story.
[C] But you [Db] know, [C] F didn't seem to work [Ab] out [B] in reharmonizing it and [Bm] playing it on [Am] solo guitar.
[Fm] So I'm putting, at [C] least for me anyways, so I put [E] it in the key of
C.
Now if you can do [Em] some of it in [Am] F it'd be wonderful [Em] to go [G] back and forth between
the [F] two keys.
[G] [C] I found though, when I was arranging [Bm] this that, and I've [E] played this song for years,
[Am]
and [G] there's certain [C] things I ended up doing to [G] it just over the years and I thought I'd
better write them [Ab] down sometime.
[G]
But one of the things [Em] is there's a fine line [C] between [C] playing it [E] straight and jazzing it up.
It's so easy to jazz it up [Am] and it's like a little too much, it [Db] doesn't sound right.
[Dm] You want to keep [G] that original [Em] beauty [Db] too.
[C] But on the other hand, [Ab] when it's [Am] not jazzed up I [D] kind of find it's a little [C] boring.
I hear other guitar arrangements [E] of it and it's like, [Am] boy I'd like to hear some other [Em] chords here.
[C] So that's what [G] I did, [C] kind of a reharmonization, but I don't think it's too [B] [E] over the top.
[Am]
[G] [C] But anyway, it's a fun [G] arrangement and I think it'll [Dm] take your listeners [B] by ear [Ab] and it's
just a good [Bb] tune to know, you've got to know it.
So let's get into [Abm] the first measure.
[C] Here we go.
We're starting off the first measure with a C major 9,
[E] [C] just like [E] that.
Coming [C] down here and grabbing that C and then we've got a [Am] C6.
[E] And this second finger [A] is barring across these [C] two.
And then we're playing a little [B] riff here.
So it's a [A] B hammer to [G] an A, [F] G, F, hammer, [E] pull off.
So it's like, you want to play it real fast.
And then next for measure two [B] we've got an E sus4, so I've got a B and an A,
[E] a B and
an E.
[B] And that little finger comes up and grabs that F [E] sharp.
[Bm] [E] Then to a G [F] sharp diminished, little [E] finger moves up, B diminished on the seventh fret,
little finger [E] comes up.
[C] Let's play that in time.
[E]
[Fm] [E]
Measure three, [Am] we're up here in the fifth fret, A minor 9.
And then I've got an A.
Then I'm going to play that open there.
[A]
Now this little finger is going to come up here on the ninth fret of the D string [Am] and
I've got this C here and we're just going to go like this.
[C] [Am] [E]
[Am] [Em]
[E] [Am]
