I was pastoring [Em] a country church in Cobb County, Georgia,
and every fourth [N] Sunday [A] night we had a gospel sing.
[D] And it would fill the building, [G] a small building,
but [D] we had no air conditioning, so we raised the windows,
and people stood outside, leaned [G] in.
Spirit Family was my biggest drawing card.
And they'd come and sing.
And one Sunday night, a man [D] in his 50s, I guess,
[A] I'm up on [D] the pulpit, and he [Db] comes and says to me,
you don't know who I [E] am.
You probably don't know who my father is,
but my father's Reverend James [A] Moore.
[Em] And he and [Ab] Dad Spear used to teach [A] singing schools together
[Eb] and travel [Em] the country.
[G] I said, my father wrote, or will never grow old.
Spears was singing [Dm] while this man was telling me this.
[Em] I said, go get [D] your father.
He's [A] in his late 80s.
[D] He went and got Brother [G] Moore, Reverend [D] James C.
Moore,
brought him up to the front.
And when [Ab] the Spears got [D] there with a song they were singing,
[A]
[Em] Brother Moore was standing right in Dad Spear's face.
These [C] two old men [B] looked at each other for [D] just a few seconds.
And all of a sudden, [A] [E] their glory rose.
[Ab] They began [A] to cry, and [Bb] they both began
[D] to try to sing in the land where we'll never, [Em] never grow old.
That church was so filled, you couldn't walk anywhere.
But people began to step over one another.
My deacons took 37 people in Sunday school rooms,
[B] and they were [Bb] saved.
We thank you, [Db] Jesus.
[D] You have heard of us.
On the far east side is [G] a beautiful [D] home
