This next song is written by Alan Bell of the Blackpool Taverners, very close to home now.
In our last LP we recorded a song called Ring Mill, this one's called Bread and Fishes.
It's all about the legend that Jesus, Joseph and Mary actually were on a pilgrimage in England
and on their way sort of shelved out their bread, fish and wine to anyone in the way.
It really led to believe that Alan Bell was one of the lucky guys who happened to be there.
And that's what the song's all about.

[Ab] With the wind [Eb] in the willow [Ab] and the birds in [Eb] the sky
[Ab] There's a bright sun [Eb] to warm us [Ab] wherever [Bb] we lie
[Eb] We have bread [Ab] and fishes [Bb] and a jug of [Eb] red [Cm] wine
To share on [Bb] our journey with all [Eb] of mankind
So I sat down [Ab] beside them with [Bb] the cave [Eb]-claws around
[Cm] And we ate from [Ab] a mantle [Eb]
spread out on the ground
It told me [Ab] of peoples, [Bb] prophets [Eb] and kings
[Cm] And all of [Ab] the one God [Bb] who knew [Eb] everything
[Ab] With the wind in [Eb] the willow [Ab] and the birds in [Eb] the sky

[Cm] That I [Ab] might remember [Bb] their kindness [Eb] and grace
By name it [Ab] is Joseph, this [Bb] is Mary [Eb] my wife
[Cm] And this is [Ab] our young son [Bb] who is our [Eb] dear lie
With [Ab] the wind in [Eb] the willow [Ab] and the birds in [Eb] the sky
[Ab] There's a bright sun [Eb] to warm us [Ab] wherever [Bb] we lie
[Eb] We have [Ab] bread and fishes [Bb] and a jug [Eb] of red wine
[Cm] To share on [Bb] our journey with all [Eb] of mankind
We are travelling [Ab] to Gloucester, [Bb] to [Eb] England's green [Cm] lakes
To hear of [Ab] Metropolis, [Bb] to hear of [Eb] the states
