Hey, I'm Brian Sutton and thanks for popping in this DVD.
We're going to spend some time talking about my guitar playing, hopefully answering some
questions that other guitar players may have had.
Discovering a place, and it's going to be different for everybody, of what just feels natural.
Sometimes I will anchor a little bit of my pinky and ring finger on the pick [E] guard [D]
[E] [Bm] to
basically allow a little bit of leverage this way, [Ab] a point at which the hand can [G] rock back and forth.
That starts with a [C] C chord, and it [G]
[D] goes to a D7, [Ab] kind of on the second half [D] of the B section.
I [B] chose the melody, [Gb]
[E] and I remember when I was learning that,
[Gm] certain times it will pop
out like there's a little lick that I'll use, actually sweeps over three strings.
[C] [F] [G]
What I'm doing there is sweeping across the G and the D and the C.
[C]
We're [A] playing this
lick out of a G, kind of ending a phrase in G, say, and then playing the B flat, [Ab]
hammering
[Gm] the B, [G] and then hitting a downstroke on the G.
[C] [F]

The [Gb] melody [D] is
