[G] [D] Hi, my name is Damon Grant.
I'm one of the artists here at LP and I [Abm]
came in today because I've been doing a lot of work with
Singer-songwriters, and I want to kind of just show demonstrate a few grooves.
I've been kind of working on
Where I'm playing the cajon in a less traditional setting I'm here with my friend Jeremy Goldsmith on guitar
We're going to kind of demonstrate some of these grooves for you, and I'll explain the instruments
I bring out here with me this group is a little funkier
It's a bass line that Jeremy came up with put it on the loop pedal and I'm using a
Shaker you can use any kind of shaker.
Maybe the rock shaker the twist shakers
I'm using the twist shakers the jam tam on your foot and then a little bit more syncopated backbeat on the
Cajon the trick here is if you're going to play with a guitar player with a loop [C] you got to really focus in on the loop here

you
This groove is just a [Ab] basic to beat a lot of times a singer-songwriter will say to me
I need you to play that train beat.
This is the train beat
It's just a very simple [G] 16th note upbeat pattern on the cajon
Using the jam tam on one foot for the strike, and I'm using the jingle kick with chrome jingles
My left foot for just the shaking motion that you would get from a normal tambourine
and I'm going to put it all together and this is the
Basic country to beat

[Bb] [N] this groove is just another version of the the train beat the to beat that we were talking about earlier
I only used a couple things in this groove.
I use the cajon still a 16th note based
Pattern and I'm using upbeat accents
And I have this instrument which is the foot tambourine and you don't even have to have it on the whole so it slips on
In seconds you can put it on in between songs just slips over my toe, [F] and I just use it by tapping my foot on floor
