Chris Young - Neon (Live Acoustic) chords
Start Jamming...
Well, it's kind of funny whenever you title a record something like [E] Neon,
it's actually ended up doing exactly [C] what I wanted it to do.
[F#] The reason we named the record Neon, beyond having a song with this title that I just am in [E] love with,
is because it's something that kind of makes you [G] pause a little bit.
You're like, okay, what's that?
I know when that song first came to me,
just the song title, I was like, okay, [E] I've got to see what this is about.
[F#] So it's something that immediately draws you in.
I think Neon and country music go well together.
How many country songs have you heard that have something about neon lights
or anything else that tends to do that bar scene
and just kind of gets you in the mood of wanting to hear a country song?
I think there's a lot of things special about not only this song,
but [G] using it as the title of this record and hopefully the record [A#] itself.

[Em] [Dm]
[G] [C]
The light they [Dm] always leave on
Weekend [G] on the rocks
An old school jukebox
With a little [C] Johnny Leon
It's a buzz I love [D] to [Dm] be on
You put a double on your [G] troubles
The light at this end of the tunnel
Is [Dm] a [E]
[F] [G] [C] neon
The sun can do the job in the daytime
But the moon ain't quite bright enough
[D] To [Dm] light up the way to playtime for people [C] like us
And just like a beachside beacon
Calling all the ships back home
[F] A few thousand volts [C] to cut through the smoke
The [Dm] windows are tinted
[G] That's why they ain't [C] vintage
Neon
The light they [D] always [Dm] leave on
Weekend [G] on the rocks
An old school jukebox
With a little [C] Johnny Leon
It's a buzz I [D] love to [Dm] be on
You put a double [G] on your troubles

[C] [E]
You [F] know I've seen it all
From [E] the orange of [C] the fall
To [D] the green of the summer

You put a [G] double on your troubles
The light at this end of the tunnel
Is [D] always a [E] [F] neon
