Love, love, love, love a [Gm] child.
[C] Love, love, love, love, [F] love a child.
[Gm] 1 Peter 3.15 says to always be [C] prepared to give an answer or a response for the hope that you [F] have within,
but to do so with gentleness [Dm] and respect.
And I think that this is something that [Gm] we struggle with sometimes as Christians.
I think that either we [C] mute our faith, which is most common, or [F] we're so overt,
we're like vomiting Jesus on everybody [Dm] and they're running for cover.
I think that there's this [Gm] tender balance.
One thing [G] that I like to do in churches sometimes is I'll ask for three [C] volunteers,
and I'll have them go up on stage, and [F] I'll give the first person a sugar packet,
you know, one of those pure [Dm] cane sugar packets, and I'll say,
now raise your hand if you're in the audience.
[G] If you have ever eaten one of these at a diner or whatever, just [C] chug to the sugar packet.
Everybody raise their hand, of course.
[F] And then the guy takes the sugar, and then he's like, mmm, it's good.
[Dm] And then the next guy, he [Gm] gets the sweet and low packet, you know, the little pink fake sugar packet.
Raise your hand if you've ever [C] done that.
Well, [F] it's a mixed review.
Not many people have done it.
Who would?
And [Dm] the guy takes this fake sugar, and [Gm] the look on his face,
whether it's aspartame or whatever, [C] it's just kind of
And the number one comment I get, it's fake.
[A] It just doesn't taste right.
Something doesn't taste right.
They know when you're [Dm] real, and they know when you're being fake.
[Gm] But even more so, then we get to the third guy.
[C] This poor sucker gets the salt packet.
Raise your [F] hand if you've ever eaten a salt packet.
No, of course you haven't, but if you think about [Dm] it, it's on that pizza.
It's just evenly [Gm] dispersed.
It's on almost every meal that you would [C] eat, but too much.
I mean, nobody [F] does this for dinner, right?
But you do this, you sprinkle it on.
Too much [Dm] salt, it just makes people choke.
But a [Gm] few on a pretzel, well, that'll make people thirst, make [C] people want more.
[Dm] Are you living a faith that is [E] making people [Dm] around you thirsty,
making them gag, or making them [Gm] think that you're being fake?
And that's what the [C] song, The Love of Jah, is all about.
It starts [F] off with, what is the difference between me and you?
[Dm] [G] And that's the question that I asked, that ultimately led me down the path of [C] true salvation.
I asked that to someone who was [F] living a life that was so contagious.
People are looking at your life, and they're wondering,
[D] okay, do I want that in my own?
And so they take their life, and does [Gm] it kind of transpose over, like a projector on a wall?
Does their [C] life project over yours?
Does it fit, or does it clash?
[F] Are you living a life that is drawing people in?
[Dm] I met someone who was named Marcus in 1989, [Gm] and he had a life that was so contagious,
he had so [G] many things in common with me, [C] that I finally said,
what's the difference between you [F] and I?
He didn't give me a long sermon.
He didn't [Dm] stand up and preach.
He didn't even put on a tie.
He said it [Gm] was the love of God, and I realized at that moment, that's what I needed.
[C] The love of Jehovah.
You need [F] God's love.
You need God's grace.
You need God's forgiveness, and your life will be forever changed by it.
[Gm] And your life will be more of the same without it.
And will [C] ultimately end in death, hell, without [F] God's love.
Choose love.
Choose his [Dm] eternal life.
Today.
