And this great room right here, [A] it's a fantastic [Ab] room to perform [A] in, acoustics and everything.
And all the guys back here, the sound [E] guys, Rick and all you folks, [B] a lot of you guys.
And [D] I've been looking at the video and I
You've done a fantastic job.
[A] We kind of got a late start in here and they really pulled [G] everything together and just did a fabulous job.
And I want you to know [A] that we very much appreciate it.
[Ab] But I was here not long ago when [G] Ralph [Ab] Amory and [Ab] Vince Gill and Bill Tillis were inducted [Fm] into the Company Music Hall of Fame.
And I [N] was chosen to be a participant, an entertainer, to recognize some of them.
Of course, I'd worked with all of [G] them at some point in time [Abm] and got to know them pretty [Gb] well.
And played [Ab] golf with Vince Gill, [A] Scott Turkey and Amy.
Just sweet, [G] sweet people.
Of course, Ralph Amory has been [A] fabulous to me over the years.
I don't know how many of you know him.
[D] I did the very [Ab] first song on the very first show of Nashville Now.
And I did the very last song on the [D] last show of Nashville Now.
Sort of bookended it.
[G] And again, did it a number of times during the year.
So, [A]
a big history.
But it was certainly a real [Gb] thrill for me to be able to participate in that evening.
And Kyle [Db] and all the folks [Ab] here at the Hall of Fame, Michael.
I mean, they've just been tremendous to me over the years.
I've got a long history.
[C] In this [Am] business, some of you
[Bb] Some of you come out of [D] the booth and I've been away for a while.
I say, well, who [C] are you?
Well, I'm con.
[Gb] And what kind of music do you do?
I do, [A] well, I do [Gm] con music.
[Eb] What?
[Fm] But [C] invariably, whoever picks up a CD, the next [Ab] night they come back and say,
I love that, I love [G] that, I love that.
So, it's really neat to have that.
Of course, a lot of people come by and [Gb] talk about, you know,
remembering me from way back when I signed [E] my first contract with Warner Brothers [G] in 1977.
So, I [E] was a good child.
[N] [Bb] I've got a long history with this [D] stuff.
And I've met some absolutely wonderful people.
And [Ab] I would trade for anything in the world.
I enjoy it now more than I ever have in my life.
[Gm] So, it's great to be [E] able to do it.
[F]
Here's a [Am] country song.
This [Ab] was a big hit for me a few years ago.
And I'm only going to say a few [A] years ago.
