This is a cool tune, [C] Dance With Me, a song people have asked me to show them how to play for years.
There is a lot going on in it and I finally have a lesson up in it with [G#] For It at Totally Guitars.
We talk about lots of different things.
First, we go through the chord progression which is pretty simple in general, Ds, Gs,
As, [G] Bm and stuff like that.
A good way to [E] get started on this though would be to just mess with the opening little run
which is a three string mini A chord [D] played at the 5th fret, [A] 5th and [A] 6th with a D in the
bass [D]
moving to a mini D chord.
That's a lot of times what you would do while you're singing [C#] in there, just that A chord
to the [G] D.
The mini D is [D] played at the 5th fret and the 7th and the 7th.
Now these are [A] derived from an A chord [C] barred at the 5th out of the E family [D] and a D chord
barred at the 5th out of the A [A] family.
All that [N] stuff we explain in lots of other lessons at Totally Guitars.
So again, this is part of the Target program at Totally Guitars.
It's a very complicated song and a very complicated lesson.
We talk [C#] about thirds, playing [Em] scale in thirds [B] and
[G] [Em] how that ties in [E] with [B] the little runs
that happen in the song.
We also take a look at the ending.
[D] [G]
[B]
[D] So [D] all that stuff is covered in the lesson.
[D#] If you'd like to check it out, come visit us at Totally Guitars.
We have a lot of other [D] less complicated [N] lessons.
This one's kind of up there in terms of level of [D] difficulty.
But a lot of [G#] lessons are free.
I think we have 60 or 70 free lessons there, all of which are here at our YouTube channel,
TG Free Lessons as well.
[G] But if you'd like to see the full lesson on Dance [A] With Me, come over and see us at Totally
Guitars and you can learn a little bit [D] more about just these first two chords and [G] everything
else that happens after.
[Em]
[A] [Em] [E] [G]
[D] [A]
Come see us soon.
