Darling Buds | Hit The Ground - Going Live 1989 chords
Start Jamming...
Doesn't [E] matter what you say, I'll just go and tell everyone [A] what you say
[D] [A]
[D] [A] What you say won't bring him round, if I knew just what I have found
I'm easy come, easy go, but the things I think you'll never know
Because [D] I'm falling [C] in love, but I can't see [D] it slide
[C]
Falling [D] in love [C] until I hit [D] [C] the ground
[A] Walking through my time on my own, through empty street time all alone
I watch the faces stare at me, so [D] they can't see
[A] Because [D] I'm falling [C] in love, but I can't see [D] you smiling
[C] Falling [D] in love [C] until I hit [D] the ground
[C] Because [D] I'm falling [C] in love, but I can't see [D] you smiling
[C] Falling [D] in love [C] until I hit [D] the ground
[C] [A]
Because [D] I'm falling [C] in love, but I can't see [D] you smiling
[C]
Falling [D] in love [C] until I hit the [D] [C]
[A] ground
What's done is done, won't bring him round, if I knew just what [D] I have found
[A] I'm easy come, [D] I'm easy go, but the things I think you'll never know
Because I'm falling in [C] love, but I can't see [D] you smiling
[C] [D] Falling in love [C] until I hit [D] the ground
[C] [D] Falling in love, [C] but I can't see [D] you smiling
[C] Falling [D] in love [C] until I hit the [D] ground
[N]
Right, cut.
Have a pew.
Come and have a sit down.
Have a seat.
Now then, I give you a phone there.
There you go.
Everyone's got to have a phone.
And there's a phone there.
And there's a phone there.
Have we got any more phones?
Do we have any more?
There we go.
We'll sit there.
Have a pew.
And just grab that microphone there so we can hear you.
Good.
Welcome to the- It's alright, you can come in.
You can come in.
You can come in.
Give it to her.
Thanks.
You're welcome.
There's one down the end.
And one for me.
Now, first of [Ab] all, I first heard the Darling Buds on John Peel's programme,
which is very different to going live.
How do you feel about this change?
And this sort of discovery, really?
Yeah, I suppose, well, John Peel played us about [G] two years ago and got us some sessions and everything.
And he's still playing us now, and it's just good that more people are hearing us now, I suppose.
You know, like, we've been on telly and still been on John Peel, still playing live, still doing all the old things,
but more and more new things are happening, so.
And you're touring as well, aren't you?
[F] Yeah, that's right.
Yeah, we just- we [Em] played in Sunderland last night, flew down this morning, right,
and we're going back [Am] up to Nottingham tonight.
Terrific.
Playing at Trent Polly.
[Ab] So looking forward to that.
And we finish on the 26th at the Town & Country in London.
Are you [G] enjoying the tour down there?
Yes, it's great fun.
Are you quite happy with it?
Yes, so far it's been great.
Would you rather- studio [C] work on stage?
You live [N] on your nerves a bit more, then.
All right, let's take some phone calls.
We've got a couple here.
And line one, who's on one?
Hello?
Hello, who's that?
Caroline Stone.
Hi, Caroline.
I hope we've spelt your name right.
[C] Yes.
Thank goodness for that.
I don't think we've got anyone right this morning.
What's your [G] question?
Have you had any previous jobs?
Previous jobs?
Oh, God.
Well, I left school and I didn't know what to do.
I didn't really want to, sort of, do a nine-to-five job.
And I went abroad with my parents on holiday and stayed over there as a nanny.
That was quite good then.
I did that.
And then when I came back, I started the band, really.
I've [C] been doing that ever since.
[G] All right.
OK, and the chap's down here?
Well, I worked as an apprentice [Ab] engineer for about four years before doing that.
But I gave it [N] up for the band.
I think it was the best move, I think.
Mm-hm.
Good.
The only job I've [G] had, really, is a computer programmer for about three years.
That's useful in a band like this, isn't it?
You should be using [C] that.
I used to be a [G] chef for a little while, so I used to try to kill people with my food.
So you're in charge of the on-tour grub, are [N] you?
Well, yeah, the sandwiches.
They'd trust me with those.
I'm sure you [G] are.
Right.
Line number two.
Who's on two?
Tim.
Hi, Tim.
Off you go.
I'd like to ask Andrea, are you planning to do a tour with the release of your new debut album?
Well, we're doing the tour at the moment, and then [Cm] probably we'll be going abroad to all over Europe
in about April, I think.
So if you don't catch us this time, we'll probably have to catch us in
Yeah, but I'll be seeing you on Monday in Birmingham, and I'll see you then.
Oh, brilliant.
Good.
Well, I'll see you [Ab] then, then.
And what sort of music do you like yourselves?
[G] Oh, God.
Usually just guitar pop, like the Wender stuff.
[G] House of Love, Jesus and Mary Chain.
We're all right, I suppose, [Ab] you know.
Do you listen to your own stuff?
I listen to the album loads of times, and I've stopped listening to it now
because I think you get fed up with it, don't you?
All right.
Happy with your answers there?
Yes, thanks.
Good.
And whereabouts did you say you live?
[N] Northampton.
