Hey, [G]
[Dm] [A]
[Bm] [G]
[D] [A]
[Bm] [G] what's up everybody?
This is Ty from 10thumbspro.com.
Now, if you've watched a couple of these videos, you know that I live in Medellin [B] currently.
Some of those ones in the old culture in Buenos Aires and [G] Argentina, but my current home is
in Medellin and I just cannot escape this song.
Everywhere I go it's just Despacito.
And [B] so in an attempt to kind of get it out there and just get everyone involved playing
ukulele all over my [G] Latino brothers in South America, we're going to do [E] Despacito today.
It's a four chord [Bm] tune, an easy reggaeton song.
There is [C] one barre chord, but I'm going to teach you some easy chords as well.
So no matter what your level, you can play it.
It's going to [G] be a lot of fun.
What do you need to learn?
Ukulele, brain, attention, spin.
You have those three things.
Follow me and let's break this lesson down, all right?
You can become a patron if you want.
It starts at a dollar a month.
You [G] get a PDF with this lesson and all our lessons plus our old lessons to [B] accelerate your learning.
I promise that.
Low as a dollar a month.
You can always give more if you want.
Skype [A] lessons one on one.
But if you can't just [D] because you're ready to get Despacito.
That's cool.
[G] I dig it and I respect it.
Grab that ukulele, brain, attention, spin.
Follow me on it and let's break this lesson down right now.
All right, so [Eb] I'm going to show you the chords one at a time and then I'm also going to show
you the alternative chords [C] for the easier version.
You're going to need a [Bm] B minor.
That will match it with the studio version.
If [D] you can't play a barre chord, you could [Am] substitute that for an A minor, okay?
You're [Cm] also going to need a G major.
[G]
[C] But in the easier version, you'll be using an [F] F.
You're also [B] going to need [D] a D major.
In the easier [C] version, this one will be a C.
[Am] You're also going to need an [A] A major with
the [C] easier version of this chord [G] being a G.
Okay?
[C] So I'll play through it the hard way and then at the end I'll play through it the easy way
so you can [G] kind of see what they both feel like.
Now [Eb] the strum pattern is going to be a down, down, down, up, up, up, down, up, down, up,
down, down, down, down, down, up, up, up, down, down, up, down, up.
One, two, three, [Gb] four.
Down, down, down, up, up, up, down, up, down, up.
Okay?
So just practice [Bm] that over the B minor or [A] the A minor if you're doing the easy version.
Alright.
So [Cm] once you feel good with that, what we're going to do is we're going to put it to the
chord progression so let's go ahead and put the chords up there and play through [C] that.
Okay.
Remember, strum pattern one time on each of those chords.
So here we go.
[B] One, two, three, four.
[G] [D]
[A] [Bm]
[G] [D]
[A] [Bm]
[G] [D]
[A] So [Ab] why don't we go ahead and play through that two times
with the easier chords [C] up there,
just so you can get a feel of kind of
what that would sound like too as well, all right?
[Bm] Now I would play it with the B minor,
but not everyone can do a barre chord.
That's why [Am] we're doing this.
[F] [C]
[G] [Am] So you can feel the progression feel similar, [F] right?
[C] While it may not quite sound as good,
you [G] can use that chord progression to play the tune.
[Cm] All right, so why don't we go ahead and put some lyrics up
and let's play through the [G] original key,
the B minor key, four times.
Now again, you can always print this out,
change the chords and sing along with [Gb] it
in the easier key if you want.
So four times with lyrics up, here we go.
