The only other thing to talk about is there's a few, I guess,
of that structure,
connect one part to another transition.
to the song, which is based on
a chords derived from the chorus.
remember in the chorus [C] we [Bm] have
[Em] [C] [Bm]

The only other thing to talk about is there's a few, _ I guess,
things that aren't part of that structure,
but are episodes that _ _ connect one part to another _ transition.
So one would be the introduction _ to the song, which is _ based on
a chords derived from the chorus.
For instance, _ remember in the chorus [C] we [Bm] have_
_ _ [Am] _
_ [Em] _ _ _ [C] _ _ [Bm] _ _
[Am] _ _ [Em] _ _ _ [C#m] _ _ [C] _
_ _ _ _ [F#] _ Yeah, let's [G] stop right there.
_ [F#] _ _ See [G] there you have a tonic _ [F#] to the seventh chord built on the seventh degree,
which is F sharp. _
The introduction [Bm] starts with a very similar _ chord.
You have a major chord, _ _ and then, although you don't have the [F#] exact one,
_ _ you have something similar.
_ _ _ _ And those two chords are [A#] the _ _ basic two chords that give the introductionist character.
It's just three sequences _ going down in whole tones like [G] this.
_ _ _ [D] _ _ _ [F#] Same chords, whole tone [F] down.
_ _ _ [E] _ _
It's _ [D#] _ _ _ _ [D] _
_ cool.
Right?
Which ends on the fifth, leading back to G,
but instead of going [G] directly to G, we'll go through the [C] plagal cadence.
_ [G] _ _ _
_ That's where you [Bm] set up your groove, right?
That sets up the groove.
We have a drum fill and [D#] right into the_
In the first verse.
Into the verse, exactly.
_ _ _ Then there's another little interlude, right, that happens?
Yeah, there's another interlude that connects _ _ the _ first chorus to the following verse.
And what we want to do is we want to kind of simmer it down a little bit
and give sort of a chance for the verse to start.
And it's really an arranging technique. _
_ Here's the end of the first [A] chorus. _
[C] _ _ _ _ _ [F#] _ _ _
[Bm] _ _ [E] _ _ _ [Am] _ _ [C] _
_ _ [A] _ _ [Bm] _ _ [Em] _ _
[Bm] _ _ [C] _ _ [G] _ _ _
In other words, _ [F#m] _ [Bm] so what it does is [Em] it kind of takes you out of the _ _ groove that's [F#m] been happening.
It's based on [Bm] _ _
[Em] strings and [A#] grouping, [G#] grouping _ [G] _ [F#] _
_ groups of threes instead of_
Three against four kind of feeling going on in there because the groove is still going.
And what it does is it's basically_ Exactly. _ _
_ And _ it's really_
It's saying, you know, let's like, you know,
hold it for a second and set up for what's going to happen next. _
Well, we used that.
I remember on the tour, we used this _ to lead back into the introduction again, right?
Right, exactly.
_ And also we used it as a coda.
Yeah, it's true.
It's a little transitional phrase, _ _ which is one of those little surprises to me.
It's just moving up the cycle of fifths to or down the cycle.
_ [B] _ [E] _ _ [B] _ _
[C] _ You want _ [F#m] _ _ _
_ [Bm] _ [Em] _ [Bm] to [C] _ _ _
_ _ [C#] try it?
Love to.
Okay. _
One, _ _ _ _ two, three.
[D] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [F#m] _ _ _ [F] _ _ _
_ _ [Em] _ _ _ _ _ [A#] _
