[D] When we originally went through the rehearsals, that was a revelation in a free spirit of Elvis having a hell of a time
Even doing his show, which was gonna go on the road with just four days later.
I think this time in Elvis's life
It's 1972 him and Priscilla
Separated very early on in the year
So he was probably actually anxious to get out of the house and be on the road and have the distraction of tour
Burning love was the song that Elvis didn't really want to do because he was depressed
But everybody in you know in [G] his band and his producer
[A] Pushed him into [G] doing it and it [D] you know
It became a monster yet and is still one of the most recognized songs today [A] on this set
We have him [D] actually doing several takes of it in front of the cameras
Originally, they wanted to film how an Elvis recording sessions went on
[Eb] Let's hear the vocal track
[D] [Gm]
[A] [D] It's like the second take or third take.
The rehearsals people are excited for the show, excited to be back on tour
They're in a studio
So there's that nervous I think new energy and you can hear them early on kind of going through the motions
What I think is great is hearing Elvis direct the band sometimes verbally [G] sometimes I feel like mentally he sings [Gbm] faster to get them to Play faster
[D] He tells them to slow down or to cool it or louder or softer
Is Elvis probably using his hands and his arms and waving and really directing [Ab] in the [Eb] actual room?
I feel like if you close your eyes, you can really hear some of that [D] in the recorder
[G] [Am]
[Gm] [D] [G]
[D] [G] Always said they'd never figured out an [D] ending for this
Burning love is just you know, great up [Eb]-tempo song Elvis [Ab]
singing [A] every take like it's the [Ab] take and that [G] one burning love
I mean you got to really go for some air in some of those.
It's a [Dm] really fast song
It's [G] a little bit like that culture we have today
We have to know everything about everybody even the tiniest detail and we also [B] know how [A] they create their art or music
[D] It's a personal glimpse
I think this is a great [G] look into like them practicing for the live show [D] and getting it right
