Start Jamming...
We're at the [E] concert hall in Stockholm and we're rehearsing for the Polar Music Prize.
And this is our [Ab] third time.
[Db] I mean, [G] I think that's what we've always done with Will.
The past two times we've done this, it's just you kind of just
focus on the song and why you love the song and you don't think [B] about the person who's sitting there listening to you.
You just kind of think about how [G] beautiful the song is and just try to disappear into that world a little bit.
So [B] right now, I don't know, just trying to like [Ab] have fun.
[Cm] [Db]
[Ab]
We [B] have actually talked to Emily about our song, Emily.
[Gb]
We went [Em] to see her play when she played in [A] Stockholm, I think two years ago.
[G] And we got to meet her [Gbm] and it was, I mean, it was strange because when we wrote it,
I think she was just [B] sort of this fairy tale creature.
[G] Like you don't really [Gb] imagine that these people are real until you're standing there next to them.
And it felt almost like strange.
Like, oh, we wrote a song about you.
Sorry.
What have we done?
Yeah, like we used your name in our song.
It [B] was cool.
She was so lovely about it though.
She was just like, I can't believe you put me in the same.
Because the thing about [Bm] Johnny Cash and June Carter, she was like, I just can't believe you put me in the same category.
As those guys.
And for us, it's just
[Gb] They're all the same, you know?
They're all like [Em] legends.
But to her, it was just really interesting because [B] you'd never think so.
But hearing it from her point of view, it's like she was honored to be part of, you know, the same group as them.
[G] Which is kind of, yeah, so crazy.
[Bb]
[Fm] [B]
I think this is [N] a very special occasion.
I think, you know, it's such a [G] rare thing.
Not a lot of bands get to hang out with their idols and play for them, you [Abm] know?
It's just like a really bizarre [Eb] thing.
And we're really lucky to have been invited to this.
You know, it's something, we play these songs live.
We've played both Dancing Barefoot and America, you know, the songs we played before at the Polo Music Prize [Ab] like a [B] thousand times.
And we tell the story [Eb] about how we got to do it and people are just amazed by it, I think.
Because it's so special.
It's a really rare opportunity.
So it's something that we'll remember probably for our lives.
And tell our grandchildren about.
It's very precious.
