_ [A] And he and Jesus are our shepherds.

He [Bm] actually even has a beard [C] to be a shepherd. _ _ _

Signing is kind of a gateway, isn't it?
It's the ability to actually be able to touch the fan.
To be able to actually shake their hand and for them to tell their stories.
A lot of times we are away from our families.
_ Sometimes very little sleep.

And those are usually the moments that make it feel _ very [Bb] worthwhile.
Because you actually get to see how your [Abm] music is impacting those people's lives.

I think beyond [D] the signing line, [Db] _ [C] you live in a bit of a bubble.
You're kind of insulated [G] into stages and tour buses.
[D] _ _ _ And if _ you're not careful, you lose [G] complete connection with [Dm] _ the audience.
So [C] I think for both of us, we really [C] prize [Em] that.
It's less [G] about scribbling on a [C] piece of paper.
And it's more about the fact that _ _ [G] you can shake a [Dm] hand and look in their eyes.
And they can tell you [Bb] a story or you can say a kind word. _
_ _ That's [Eb] what really makes it [Eb] worth it.
_ _ _ _ Max Licato has got here his little devotional titled, [Ab] Love is Decision.
Our dad is kind of the anchor in some ways.
He [Fm] takes on [F] a very sort of mentor [Dm] _ _
role _ [Eb] on the road, day in and day out.
We have a daily kind of prayer [Bb] time and he reads an inspirational message
or some Bible verses and that kind of thing.
Love is more a [Ab] decision _ than an emotion. _
Love sets [F] boundaries and seeks counsel.
And I think [Bb] one of the strengths of a king [Eb] country is there's good accountability.
I think we all know that [Bb] _ our behavior affects the rest of the band.
[D] He's been a great father, [Ab] loved our mom for almost 40 years.
And [Bb] been in the music [Fm] industry for about 40 years as well [Dm] in all different capacities.
[Bb] It's very fair to say [Eb] that we wouldn't be _ _ who we are, well we wouldn't exist if it weren't for him.
But we wouldn't be who we are as [Eb] a band if it weren't for his incredible [F] insight and involvement. _ _
_ _ A lot of times people ask us how do you [E] keep your families together and everything while being on the road.
And obviously [A] between Joel and I our families come out quite a bit.
But there's still a lot of [E] times when they don't get to come.
And [A] one of the things that we kind of have a policy of is unless we are live on [E] the air or on television or something
that we take [D] those phone calls or those [A] FaceTimes or we try to reach out as much as we can
because _
_ [E] my greatest legacy [Gbm] isn't what I do up on stage.
[A] _ My greatest legacy is how I [E] love my wife and how I love my kids. _
