Alright, sweet!
Home [D] Alabama, [Bb] awesome.
Lennard Skinner, love it.
[Gb] Before I go right into it, if you want you can click down in the little click box on
the bottom there and get three free bass lessons that are not on YouTube at all.
And my name is Finn Barr [N] of Finn Barr Bass.
And let's go into the beginning of this song.
Let's see if you can see my fingers here.
What you're going to be doing is you're going to be [D] pressing [F] on the fifth fret of the A string twice.
[A] And then you're going to hit the open A string for just a second and then go into [Gm] playing
two [N] on the third fret of the [Eb] A string.
So it's going to sound [D] like this.
[C] [D] Then you're going to play [Gb] an open note on the E [B] string real quick followed by two notes on the
Okay, okay checkers.
[F] [G] Okay, go lay down buddy.
Go lay down [D] pup.
Go lay down pup.
Followed [Gm] by two on the [D] third fret of the E string.
[C] [G]
And [Ab] then what you could do is [Gm] pluck the open A string [A] and [B]
hammer on to the second fret
of the A [Gb] string before you go back into the [B] run again.
[D] So it gives you a little prelude [B] to the run.
[D]
[C] [G]
[B] Hammer on.
[D] [C] [Gm]
[D] [C]
[D] Just like that.
[C]
[G]
[Dbm] So what he's playing there is two hits on the A string on the fifth fret just as if
he was going back into [D] the lyrics.
And [F] then he's playing [E] open [A] A and then second [D] fret.
Then open A and then third fret.
Just like that.
Then [B] you're just going to slide, hit and slide on the third fret of the D string to the fifth
fret of the D [Gm] string.
[D]
[G] [C]
[B] And then two notes on the fifth fret of the
[D] G string.
[C]
[A] Just like that.
And then you're going to do another slide but this time downward from the fifth fret
[G] of the D string down.
And then you're going to play two notes on the third fret of the E string.
[Eb] So these are the octaves.
Two [A] notes there and [Gm] then one note on [D] the fifth fret of the D string.
[G] [Eb] And then real quick a [E] little [Ab] [Gm] ghosty note on the [Db] fifth fret of the A string [G] and then back
to the octaves.
So slowly that's full speed.
[D] Just like that.
[C] [D]
[G] That part right there is [N] not actually played by the bass in that song.
That's the guitar part.
But it's really fun to play that on the [C] bass so why not do it?
You know, switch [Ab] it up.
Play off and on.
Play that one.
[Eb] It sounds good when you play with a guitar player [F] too.
So you're going to play 7, 8 and 9 on the A [E] string.
Just like that.
[G] And then followed [Gb] by the [E] seventh fret of the G string so it sounds like this.
[D] Hit that twice.
[A]
Right?
Sound familiar?
And then you're [G] going to hit the ninth fret of the A string followed by [D] the fifth, [G] I'm
sorry, seventh fret of the A string.
You [E] could slide that [D] too.
[E]
Just like that.
[D]
[E] [F] [D]
[E] I like plucking them.
[N] Then you're definitely going to slide from [G] the fifth fret to the seventh fret of the A string.
[E] [D]
[Bb] Just like that.
[A] Then hit two notes on the fifth fret of the [C] G string.
[A]
Then slide [G] from the seventh fret of the A [D] string all the way down.
[G] Just like that.
Then you're going to hit [A] an open A and [D] then a second fret of the A string [Bb] followed by
[G] the fifth fret of the A string and then [E] the fifth fret of the [A] D string.
[G]
That kind of [D] resolves it.
[G]
So the whole thing is slow.
[E] [C]
[A] [G]
[Gm]
[D]
[A] Alright Sweet [G] Home Alabama is awesome.
I love that song.
Crazy.
So, thanks a lot for listening.
Again, if you want to click on the little [Ab] click box down there and get three [E] free bass
