Um, I'm sure a bit nervous.
I'm just going to do a little poem. _ _ _
It's called Grace.
_ I wrote this a couple of years ago, and it's just a _ _ _ _ conversation between myself and God,
or a young person's perspective on God, _ where sometimes we find it _ difficult to get to a certain level,
but sometimes we just need to have a little talk with Jesus.

_ _ _ _ They called it grace, but how would I have known?
[Ab] _ _ This person they call God, _ _ whom I've been [Gb] told about since I was a child, has been driven down.

I was acting [Bbm] out the way they say.
_ In their presence, I memorized what to say, how to pray,
impressing the crowd before me had become an [E] everyday [G] routine.

But he kept talking to me.
_ He kept telling me, [Gb] I can forgive you of your past.
_ [Ab] I felt like I was going insane, and my hearing voices [Bbm] now.
If there's someone there, stop playing.
Stop toying with my mind.
But who was I kidding?
I felt unforgivable.
How could someone possibly love the [Ab] unlovable?
_ Impossible.
It's possible for me to love you.
_ [Gb] It's possible for you to live without me.
[Ab] If you just give me a chance, I will [Bbm] show you what love really means.
But, how can you love me?
_ Of all people, how could you possibly choose me?
_ I've gone [Ab] overboard.
I'm not worthy of you, Lord.
I who was spattered your name by [Db] my actions.
[Ab] I [Gb] who was turned my back to follow worldly [Ab] distractions.
I have brought shame to your name.
[Bbm] I'm unworthy of the cause for which you came.
I'm worthless.
You are priceless.
And whoever's told you that you are worth less than what I made you is a liar. _ _
_ _ _ [Ab] _ I died for your mess.
Retrace your steps and walk back to where I [Dbm] was nailed for [Gb] your sin.
I gave up my life just to bring you [Ab] in.
Don't try to lock yourself up from within.
[Eb] Just let go.
Let me [Bbm] have my way with you.
I am a God who is merciful.
A God who would give all I can.
All I [Eb] have, just to have [Bbm] you.
I [Ab] want you, but my path is a dark road.
I've been [Bbm] trying to pray, but [Gb] God, I have this load.
I can't let go.
[Ab] I'm trying to let go.
Let me [Bbm] bear this burden.
Your back wasn't meant to bear this.
But God, I'm broken.
No matter how hard I try, I keep missing the token.
I can't find peace in anything.
I have [Ab] this battle that is raging within.
There's so much inside, I don't even know what to begin.
But [Db] I really [Gb] want to talk to you.
So listen.
[Ab] I gave my word.
Come, let us [Bbm] reason together.
Though your sins be as red as crimson, I will wash them until there is white as snow.
I gave my word that if my people which are called by my name,
if they just [Ab] humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways,
I will hear [Db] from heaven and [Ab] I will [Gb] heal the land.
I molded the [Ab] art of your heart.
I offered you [Bbm] life from the start.
If you just take it, just take heed and hear what I'm saying.
I'm listening, God.
The author of salvation.
The giver of life.
[Ab] I am that I am.
The great and mighty [Db] conqueror.
[Gb] Savior and redeemer.
_ Sovereign Lord and the [Ab] only one who understands.
My [Bbm] life is yours if you just take me.
[Cm] I'm choosing you [Bbm] today because God, I can no longer take you. _ _ _
_ _ _ _ So Father, [Ab] today in my heart I'm opening the door.
Come in.

[Gb] Abide in me.
And I will abide in you.
I [Ab] will change your life and I will make [Bbm] you brand new.
This is your year of jubilee.
Today you are free.
God, you can visit every corner of my heart.
Change and take me apart.

I'm humbled by the fact that you've accepted me graciously.
[Gb] God, I just want to say thank you.
[Ab] For giving me a second chance.
I will show [Gb] you the greater plans.
For letting me even get this far.
You are worth more than a million [Bbm] stars.
For your unfailing love that you give unconditionally.
I am your [Ab] satisfying portion and I will love you eternally. _
Today is the day I [Gb] give.
I receive grace.
