Hi, this is Lance Allen, and I do lessons online via Skype.
You can email me about this lesson at guitarlancer at hotmail.com.
I've had a lot of people ask me to do the Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton, just the chords.
I do have another lesson where I'm playing the melody of the guitar riff, and you can
find that on my YouTube site.
There are just four basic chords in the song.
[G] The G, if you know your G, it's the third finger, first fret, first string, third fret.
You put your first finger around on the [C] second fret, middle [G] finger on the third fret.
I'm going [Bbm] to do a lesson on your first basic chords as well that you can find on YouTube.
The strum pattern for this song, each chord has four beats.
You're going to be doing down, down, up, [B] down, up.
Basically, one, [Eb] two, and three, [C] and.
[G] So it's one, two, and three, and four, and.
[N] Four beats.
Then, the next chord in the progression is the D.
This particular one has the thumb wrapped
around it on [D] the sixth string.
You call that a D slash F sharp.
[N] This note up here is a F sharp.
Anytime you see a chord with a slash, it means it's got it in the bass.
That note's the [D] bass note.
[G] So we got [D] [G]
[C] third chord is a C.
Most of you might know your C chord.
[Em] [D] Back to D.
[G]
It's a little [D] easy.
See?
[Em] [C]
She's one [D] minute closer.
[G] That's how it goes.
[Ab] That's for a verse, basically.
And [N] the chorus, which you can find the lyrics and the chords written over the top of the
lyrics anywhere on the internet.
Basically, if you follow this drum pattern, you can figure [Gb] out, and you can probably listen,
and there's also an E minor chord later on in the song.
But the chorus is just [C] a little different.
It goes to C.
[Em] I just [D] keep telling [G] you [D] where you feel alone.
[Em] And I [C] say yes, you [D] look wonderful [G] tonight.
[D] [C]
Pretty much the same [D] progression.
[G]
[B] So hopefully that helps out.
And if you guys are interested in learning [F] more about the song, shoot me an email and
