I'm going to teach you how to play the song snow by the red [F#] hot chili peppers
Now this is a very difficult [Em] song so it's definitely gonna take a lot of [B] practice
I know I've even not heard myself yet, but hopefully I can give you some insights on what he's doing _
So [F#] it starts out with [B] that
with that really difficult rhythm
_ _ [F#] _ Try to [G#m] play it a little bit slow and then sort of break it down
[G] All [F#] _ _ [G#m] _
right, [E] _ _ _ _ [B] _ _
_ [F#] _ _ _ _ [G#m] _ _ _
[E] _ _ _ [B] _ _ _ [F#] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [N]
so let's try to break that down into its individual pieces so the first piece it starts out with
_ _ the fifth and the sixth
_ Strings and you're threading the sixth fret
_ okay, and the [G#m] fourth fret on the G string so
_ _ the _ _ pattern is
All _ _ _
[Bm] _ _ _ _ _ [G#] _ right, so you're hammering on pulling off on the fourth and sixth frets on the on the [G#m] G string
_ the _ [Bm] _ _ _
next pattern is [E] you're going seven six four _
seven _ _ threats six fret four fret
_ _ And _ [D] _ _
[G] _ then you're doing the exact same thing but shift up one [B] string
_ _ [F#m] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [G#] _ Okay, [N] and then you're shifting back down one string and up two frets that same pattern
_ And you slide up with the pinky from the seventh to the ninth fret
_ [F#] _ _ [A#m] _ _ [F#m] So _ _ _ up to there so far [G#m] it's
_ _ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _
[B] _ _ _ [F#] _ _ _ _ _
_ [C#] _ So that's the the first half of it and then the second time
It's pretty much the same thing except for the last last part _ [G#m] so again

_ Sixth fret on the sixth string and then fourth fret on the on the A and G [F#] string

That's the pattern
It keeps [Bm] repeating itself for the most part throughout the song
_ Very tough obviously to get up to speed but you know practice with a metronome and you'll get there

[N] So the next part of the song is the pre-chorus so the pre-chorus is
_ Is the E major chord and what I tend to do and I'm not sure exactly how he does it
but I mute out the [E] D string so
_ And _ _ _ _ _ then slide up to [F#] F sharp _ and _ _ _ _ [G#] then basically what is that G flat minor?
[G#m] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[F#] _ _ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _

Okay, so the chorus
_ Starts on B major
So you can play it.
I mean you [B] can play like this
_ Or as John Frusciante often does uses his thumb as the root _ _

_ _ [N] So fret it again on the ninth fret of the thumb when we're playing the minor [C#m] chord _
_ So you're sort of muting the A string
And that way it [G] frees up your pinky to hit that last note the [C#m] D sharp _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Bm] _ _ _
_ _ _ [B] _ _ _ So _ [F#] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[C#m] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
