[F#] [E] [B]
[F#] All right, [E] my name is Nathan today.
I'm going to teach you how to play the song snow by the red [F#] hot chili peppers
Now this is a very difficult [Em] song so it's definitely gonna take a lot of [B] practice
I know I've even not heard myself yet, but hopefully I can give you some insights on what he's doing
So [F#] it starts out with [B] that
with that really difficult rhythm
[F#] Try to [G#m] play it a little bit slow and then sort of break it down
[G] All [F#] [G#m]
right, [E] [B]
[F#] [G#m]
[E] [B] [F#]
[N]
so let's try to break that down into its individual pieces so the first piece it starts out with
the fifth and the sixth
Strings and you're threading the sixth fret
okay, and the [G#m] fourth fret on the G string so
the pattern is
All
[Bm] [G#] right, so you're hammering on pulling off on the fourth and sixth frets on the on the [G#m] G string
the [Bm]
next pattern is [E] you're going seven six four
seven threats six fret four fret
And [D]
[G] then you're doing the exact same thing but shift up one [B] string
[F#m]
[G#] Okay, [N] and then you're shifting back down one string and up two frets that same pattern
And you slide up with the pinky from the seventh to the ninth fret
[F#] [A#m] [F#m] So up to there so far [G#m] it's
[E]
[B] [F#]
[C#] So that's the the first half of it and then the second time
It's pretty much the same thing except for the last last part [G#m] so again
And [E]
[B] [F#m] then [G] the last one goes
Sixth fret on the sixth string and then fourth fret on the on the A and G [F#] string
So the last so the last half of that verse is like this [G#m] and [E]
[B] [F#]
that's it.
That's the pattern
It keeps [Bm] repeating itself for the most part throughout the song
Very tough obviously to get up to speed but you know practice with a metronome and you'll get there
[G#m]
[E] [B]
[F#] [E]
[B] [F#]
[G#]
[N] So the next part of the song is the pre-chorus so the pre-chorus is
Is the E major chord and what I tend to do and I'm not sure exactly how he does it
but I mute out the [E] D string so
And then slide up to [F#] F sharp and [G#] then basically what is that G flat minor?
[G#m]
[F#] [E]
[F#]
[G#] [G#m]
[F#] [E]
So [Gm] that's sort of the [F] pattern for the pre-chorus.
Okay, so the chorus
Starts on B major
So you can play it.
I mean you [B] can play like this
Or as John Frusciante often does uses his thumb as the root
[C] [A#] [F#] And then this is a C sharp minor
[N] So fret it again on the ninth fret of the thumb when we're playing the minor [C#m] chord
So you're sort of muting the A string
And that way it [G] frees up your pinky to hit that last note the [C#m] D sharp
[Bm]
[B] So [F#]
[C#m]
[B] the chorus sounds like this
[F#]
[C#m]
[B] [F#]
[C#m]
[N] So
One last thing at the end of the song he's actually adding some color to the chorus by playing some single notes
So that sounds something like this
[B] All
[F#] [G#m]
[G] right.
So the notes he's playing are seventh fret first and second string a
[B]
[C] [G#]
Sixth fret on the high E string seventh on the B and [F#] sixth fret on G 12
[C]
[G] [G#m]
[N] 13 so that's the pattern and that just kind of repeats itself for the outro of the song
So I hope you enjoyed it again that one will take a little bit of practice, but hopefully I'll

_ _ _ _ _ [F#] _ _ _
[G#] _ _ [G#m] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [F#] _ _ [E] _ _ _ _
So [Gm] that's sort of the [F] pattern for the pre-chorus.
Okay, so the chorus
_ Starts on B major
So you can play it.
I mean you [B] can play like this
_ Or as John Frusciante often does uses his thumb as the root _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[C] _ [A#] _ [F#] And _ _ _ _ _ then _ this is a C sharp minor

_ So you're sort of muting the A string
And that way it [G] frees up your pinky to hit that last note the [C#m] D sharp _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Bm] _ _ _
_ _ _ [B] _ _ _ So _ [F#] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[C#m] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [B] the chorus sounds like _ this
_ _ _ _ [F#] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [C#m] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[B] _ _ _ _ _ _ [F#] _ _
_ _ _ [C#m] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [N] _ _ So
One last thing at the end of the song he's actually adding some color to the chorus by playing some single notes
So that sounds something like this
[B] _ All _
_ _ [F#] _ _ _ _ _ [G#m] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[G] right.
So the notes he's playing are seventh fret first and second string a
[B] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [C] _ [G#] _ _
Sixth fret on the high E string seventh on the B and [F#] sixth fret on G _ _ 12
_ _ _ _ _ [C] _
_ _ [G] _ _ [G#m] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [N] 13 so that's the pattern and that just kind of repeats itself for the outro of the song
So I hope you enjoyed it again that one will take a little bit of practice, but hopefully I'll _
