welcome to another video by BA Music Ministry.
Today we're going to be focusing on chords and progressions related to Hang On.
It's by GEI featuring Kiera Sheard, but I wanted to do this song for you.
I haven't done a song in a while.
I said, let me get back on here.
I haven't seen you in a while, so I wanted to just kind of get on here and kind of do
something, let you know I still play a little bit, you know, I still do a little bit.
But this song actually caught my attention.
For some reason I like songs like this.
It's kind of open.
It's a lot of different things you can do in here, a lot of different ideas.
So one of the things that I love to do is [Abm] just, [Gb] you know, I'm kind of like a worship type feel.
I love that stuff.
[Db] [Ebm] And so I just noticed in this song, it's got a lot of open space.
[D] And then [Ebm] drummers would love songs like this because you can kind of get down.
So we're going to go over there.
But first I want to pray and then we're going to go over the scale.
Father God, we thank you for all that you have done.
We know that you're just great in all your ways.
Father God, we [B] come right now just saying thank you for all [Db] that you have done for us
in our lives.
And we ask [Ebm] right now in the name of Jesus, help us to [Db] learn, become better [Ab] stewards.
Father God, become better musicians.
Father God, just become better in our [Gb] lives each and every day.
In Christ Jesus name we do pray.
Amen.
[Abm] [B]
[Db] [Ab] [D] [Gb] [Db]
[Gb] [B]
[Db] [Db] [Ab] [Gb]
[Abm] Amen.
All right, so, you know, you'll start playing, you kind [Gb] of get into it, you know how it is
as a musician.
So here we go.
We got the F sharp scale or G flat scale.
Let's go with G flat.
We're going to look at G flat because we [Ab] know G flat scale, you get G flat is the one, [Bb] A
flat is the two, B flat is a [B] three.
Technically, this is C flat, but we're going to call it B.
I'm not going to go too technical
on you, but technically this will be C flat.
We're going to call this B.
[Db] [Eb] This is D flat, [F] E flat, F, [Gb] and back to G flat.
All right, so what this is, it's kind of got that little minor [Ab] feel, but it starts on the two.
[Abm] And this song is cake.
It's easy.
But what I'm going to do, I'm going to show you the chords, then I'm going to show you
some of the stuff that the secondaries are doing.
Because a lot of times, you know, you don't get the secondaries, and you know, you might
have a [Dbm] band playing with you one Sunday, or you know, maybe it might be on a Wednesday
or something, you playing [Ebm] this song, or you get a youth choir together and y'all doing this song.
I'm going to kind of give you some of the parts, just some of the things that the band
is doing, or some of the stuff that the secondaries are doing.
So what we [Ab] [Gb] have
[Fm] [Bbm]
[Abm] [Db] [Gb]
[Bbm] [Bb] [Gb] [B]
[Bb] [Gb] [N]
