[Gb] All right, so Kiki Sheard's
Hang on is in a key of F sharp major
Okay, and there are four major chords that occur in this song
So I'm going to [G] begin
By [Abm] giving you those four chords
Okay
The first chord is what we call a G sharp minor 7 chord
Which is a fancy way of saying a G sharp in the bass built on a B major chord in the right hand
So in the right hand, we have F sharp B D sharp F
Okay
Then it moves up [B] to B
Okay, which is?
Same in the right hand
Except the bass changes to B.
Okay, [D] we have a
D-diminished okay, which is D in the bass D F G sharp
Okay, [Eb] and we have G sharp minor.
All right D sharp in the bass a [Ebm] sharp D sharp F sharp
Okay, and that is all your chords.
All right.
We also do have this run that you hear
[Ab] [Gb] [Db] Okay, and all that is is C sharp D sharp F sharp G [Bb] sharp A sharp
G sharp F sharp.
[Eb] [Gb]
All right, let me slow down even more
[Ab] [Gb] All right, it may take you a few minutes to practice that but [Eb] up to speed it's
[Gb] Okay
All right, so it starts off
[Abm] All [B]
[D] right, and then it has to run
[Abm] What you gonna do when your backs against the [B] wall who's to be?
[D] How you gonna smile when your seams [Eb] all hope is lost?
[Abm] Tell me what you gonna do will you need [B] a little more grace?
[D] How you gonna respond when they try to test your faith in a run?
[Abm] [Ab] [B] gone
[D] [Eb] There all right, it just repeats
[Abm] [B] Gone
[G] And there
All right verse [Abm] two what you gonna do when your strength gets [B] a little weak
[D] What someone you seen when you're feeling incomplete?
[Eb]
Tell [Abm] me what you gonna do when you try and [B] almost slip
[D] What you gonna do when it seems you're losing your grip?
[Ab] [B] and gone
[D] And
[Eb] There okay, and that just repeats all right and then on the [Abm] course they're just repeating to hang on
[D]
There they have to run
[Abm]
Gone and it just ends on this G sharp minor 7 chord.
[Ab] Okay
All right.
So that's all your tools
Like I said, feel free to stop pause rewind do what you need to do just to make sure you got the chords
[Gm] Down and that run down Okay
