So I'm going to show you how Blinded Lights by The Weeknd was made in [N] under 5 minutes.
The lead is called Bandstand and that is the main lead.
And then I just added an EQ onto it, then I added a stereo imager to make it wider and
then a sample delay to make it ultra wide and then just a bit [G] crusher just to compress
it but heavy.

_ [C] _ _ _ [F] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Cm] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Eb] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Bb] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [G] _ And that isn't quite heavy enough so if I just pull the velocity all the way to the top.
[F] _ _ Then we get that heavy [C] sound that we hear in the track.
_ This sound is [Cm] also on Spire, [Eb] it's called BA _ Wows.
[Bb] _
_ _ _ _ _ [Ab] _ _ [G] _
After that I just pulled it down and [Gb] made a little sub bass [E] out of it as well. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[Gm] _ _ _ [F] So that just goes underneath it.

_ _ _ _ _ [Gm] _ _
And then for the snare all I added was an EQ, took off some of the low end, boosted
the high end and then another bit crusher on [F] top of it. _ _
_ _ _ [Cm] _ _ [C] _ _ _
_ _ [Gm] _ _ And it also needed more of an electronic kick underneath that.
I also duplicated [F] this down and I added this kick underneath it as well.
Now _ _ _ _ _ [Cm] _
_ [C] _ _ _ _ [Cm] _ _ _
_ [Gm] for the [F] hi-hats. _ _ _
_ _ [C] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Bb] _ _
I keep getting out of [Ab] time at the end.
[F] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [C] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [Cm] _ _
[Eb] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ [Bb] _
_ _ _ _ _ [Ab] _ _ [G] _
[A] I need _ loads of pads and synths.
So I've got this [Fm] synth here, _ _ _ it's called Bandstand. _ _ _ _ _

_ _ [Bb] _ _ _ _ _ _
[C] _ _ [D] I need to add a stereo imager to make it wider, [Ab] sample delay to make it even wider in the
headphones and then just a little EQ.
So I'm going to duplicate that down on another pad for another layer.
This synth was [E] also on Spire, it's actually a pad, it's called [Fm] Epic Analog. _ _

So [F] on top of that there's just a big crash which I've got from over here.
There's also like a little pitch builder at the end as well.
So now I'm going to do the rest of the track and I'm going to fast forward over [Fm] the boring versey bit.
Fast forwarding time, quick, go, bang.
Oh, that was quick.
Okay, all that happens is it's the same bass but I just cut it off.
So you listen, _
_ _ [Cm] _ _ cut it off to about there.
_ _ _ [C] _ Then there's this little [Cm] pluck here.
_ _ _ _ This is on Spire again.
This is before _ and _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
then cut off, nice and good.
_ And then we've got the big clap that everyone's been [C] waiting for _ with a load [Dm] of reverb on it.
[Fm] _ _ _ _ _
_ [Cm] _ And then there is another pluck which you can hear right [F] now.
So this pluck, this was on Spire [Eb] _ _ _ Nord Vital. _ _
_ [Fm] _ _ And then I thought it needed to [Eb] sound more plucky so I added Smack Attack on it, turned
up the attack to 33.
_ _ And then I just cut off a little bit of the high end.
