[F] So a little bit earlier [Eb] Travis and I were [Bb] sitting in this room getting ready to film
a few videos and he [F] stumbled on something really cool and I [Eb] wanted to share it with you guys.
[Bb] It's actually a really simple setup [F] but a very accurate [Eb] sounding Warren Haynes sort
of sound, [Bb] like a government mule sort of sound.
So I wanted to kind of show you [F] what we got, what we're running [Gm] through, the amp we're
running [Ab] through, the cabinet we're running through, [Bb] and then the mic setup as well.
I think [F] that's all an important part of it.
[Dm]
He was using my Les Paul [Eb] as you can see in the video, [Bb] just stock, I think it's like
a 91 or something like that, nothing too fancy.
And yeah, Clarksdale Overdrive, Egnator Tweaker 40 and a custom 112 cabinet with a WGS speaker
in it and a couple cheap MXL mics.
So let's dive into that just a little bit closer and break it down a little bit more.
Alright, so it's a pretty simple setup.
I have two MXL mics.
I don't know what they are.
MXL ribbons of some sort.
No.
I can't even see it and I'm quite honestly afraid to move it.
Oh, I found it.
[N] Okay.
An MXL R144 and the MXL that's supposed to be like the Royer.
I forget what model it is, but Google that.
The MXL mic that is similar to the Royer.
[G] That's that mic.
And then this is just an SM48, believe it or not.
And let's see.
It's actually a 48 on this one.
No, you're good.
No.
Travis just asked me if it was a 58 and I said no, it's actually a 48 because I'm cheap.
48 is cheaper.
So that's really the truth.
Yeah, seriously.
It just, why?
It just, it sounded better for this application.
So we have these two mics up, you know, even.
Kind of panned like this.
And then we have this mic dead in the center, but it's down lower.
The 48.
It's a 112 cabinet made by Bob Hebert.
Post a comment if you want to know his information or email me and I can get you with him.
He builds a bunch of these cabinets.
We have a bunch of these size cabinets with all different WGS speakers in them.
They're all the exact same dimensions, which is why we can just swap out cabinets for a
little different sound if we want.
And you can see I have my places marked.
Speaker in it on this one is an HM75 by WGS and this is a pine cabinet.
Okay.
So the first pedal we're going through is a tuner, of course, which makes no sound whatsoever,
but it's very helpful for staying in tune.
And if you're playing a Les Paul, you're going to need this pedal quite a bit, especially
my Les Paul, because it tends to go out of tune anytime you strike a note.
So we're going to that tuner and then that's just a stock Clarksdale, which is like our
tube streamer with a three band EQ.
And from there we'll go to the amps.
All right.
So this is just [Bb] a Egnator Tweaker 40.
Actually just got this.
I'm running it on the first [Ebm] channel.
These are the exact settings we used.
The vintage and modern switch is set to [D] vintage.
Master is at about one o'clock and then I have it on the USA setting.
Treble is about a little past noon, almost one o'clock.
Middle is just a little bit shy of noon.
Bass is right at noon.
The gain is set just over noon.
The deep switch is set to deep.
Bright is on.
It's on clean.
[N] And the mid cut is set to normal.
[Gm] And that's the amp.
All right.
So that's the basic setup.
Pretty simple.
Sounds really good.
[Eb] Nothing really [Cm] expensive.
Travis's hands.
[Eb] That's [Bb] part of the tone as well.
[Gm] Great player.
So [Dm] I hope this helped you.
Be sure to send us any [Eb] questions or anything like that.
Post below in the [Fm] comment section.
