What's up everybody this is Real Art Beats.
Today I'm going to show you how to make melodies and chords real real simple in FL Studio.
Doesn't take that much knowledge to do.
Very very simple.
What you're going to do is open up your mixer.
Once you got your mixer open, go to the first master track, open up Pitcher.
Everybody has it that has FL Studio.
Open up Pitcher.
Once you got Pitcher open it's going to look like this but you want to turn it off.
The way you turn it off is just press that green button down.
Now here goes Pitcher.
Pitcher is going to tell you what keys go together.
Very simple.
You got your major scales and your minor.
Minor is more for hip hop, R&B, sad sounding stuff.
You know things that are more dark sounding.
Major is more for dance music, pop music, happy sounding stuff.
You know bright sounds.
Bright sounding keys.
So let's use minor.
We're going to use the minor F note or E.
Matter of fact E.
Whatever.
I just pick whatever random one.
Now this shows me what keys go together to make the scale of E minor.
We got C, D, E, F sharp, G, A, and B.
So all those keys go together to make what sounds good together.
The ones that aren't highlighted means that they are not in the scale and they do not fit.
So let's do this simple.
I normally do not make beats with just a mouse clicking away.
I make beats with MIDI most of the time.
I play it out.
But what you want to do is click Detached right here.
And what that's going to do is keep this always on screen just to help you.
Now we're going to need
Alright we got Nexus.
Let's use Nexus.
We got Nexus.
Piano sound loaded up.
Let's go to the Piano row.
And since we're using E, let's start off with the key of E.
Why not?
Okay.
And look at right here.
These tell you the keys right here just in case you don't know.
These are the keys right here.
So [E] E is right [Am] here.
Let's use E.
Just clicking the E right there.
Just using this for a quick little melody.
E, then we're going to use an A.
Let's use an A as a matter of fact.
E, A.
Why not a [G] G?
Okay.
And then another G.
[E] Let's hear how that sounds.
Simple melody.
[Am] [G] [B] Okay.
Very, very simple.
Boom.
You can get more complex with it as you go along.
This is just for tutorial purposes.
So then we just copied the melody three times to make a real, real simple melody.
And then let's switch it up for the fourth one to give it some variation.
And put it on a, let's say, a B.
Then we want to go to a F sharp.
[D] Then we want to go to a, what is this?
A.
And then another A.
And then let's bring it back down with [G] a G.
And then followed [F#m] by a F [E] sharp.
Now, I don't even know what that sounds like goes together.
But just to show you that since these, since you know the rule that these go together, it's going to sound good.
[G]
[Am] [G] [Am] [G]
[B] [F#m] [Em] [C] [E]
It's that simple.
That simple.
That simple.
Now, now you got the melody.
Now you want to say, oh, I need some chords that go with this melody.
How can I make chords?
All right.
Very simple.
You got, you started with E right here, right?
So there goes E down here.
Now we're going to skip over every, every other one.
We're going to go E and we're going to go G, then B gives us the chord right there.
E, G, B.
So let's do that.
E, [G] G, [B] [E] B.
OK, let's make that a little longer right there.
Now, since we got the same melody three times, you don't got to do it.
But let's copy the same chord three times over.
You can switch up the chord and it will still sound good.
But for this basic tutorial, let's do it like that.
Now over here, I use the key of, I use, I press B right here.
I click B.
So I'm at B, D and F.
Remember, because we're going to skip over.
So [A#] we're going to skip the C.
We're going to get [B] to the D.
We're going to skip the E and get to the F sharp.
So B,
[D] D, [F#]
F sharp.
And the reason I didn't go up here after the B is [B] because you don't want to clash with your melody.
You know, they got to be in, they got to give each other space.
So I did an inverted chord, which means I moved them from going from the, from making the D up here and I brought it down here.
You know what I mean?
Just like that.
So let's listen to [Em] this.
Let's see how this sounds.
[Bm] [D] [Em]
Simple, very, very [B] simple.
There you have it.
You got melodies and chords going together with just a click of a mouse.
You don't even have to press your MIDI keyboard to figure this out.
So if you like this video, do me a favor.

I appreciate it.
And I make more tutorials.
I show you more things, how to even get better and better and better.
This is just very, very simple things right here.
I got more complex things that'll get you even nicer.
