Okay, so this is a tutorial on how to play Colin Hayes' I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You.
The [G] most interesting thing to note straight away is that the guitar is in a completely
attempt to do it in standard, [F] but it really does need to
[G] so your guitar will need to be tuned
[G] to G, [C] C, F, [F]
and then [A#] two C's at the [C] bottom.
And those two C's at the bottom, when you're [F] doing
those C's [G] really just ring out and don't touch the whole [F] chord.

Okay, so this is a tutorial on how to play Colin Hayes' I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You. _ _ _
The [G] most interesting thing to note straight away is that the guitar is in a completely
different tuning, _ [B] and you could probably attempt to do it in standard, [F] but it really does need to
be done this if [E] you want it to sound exactly the same.
Okay, [G] so your guitar will need to be tuned
[D] to D, _ _ _
_ [G] to G, _ _ _ _ [C] C, _ _ _ F, [F] _ _
_ and then [A#] two C's at the [C] bottom. _ _
_ And those two C's at the bottom, when you're [F] doing
a _ _ chord like that, those C's [G] really just ring out and don't touch the whole [F] chord.
_ _ _ It gives that
really whole chord kind of [G] sound.
_ [F] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [G] _ _
_ _ _ Okay, so [G#m] the song's starting, and you [G] literally have [D#] [G] your
finger on the second fret [F#] of [G] the F string. _ _ _
_ _ _ _ That's [C] the_
_ _ _ _ you _ said_
_ [G] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [C] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [G] seven, catch on the [C] sixth, and that's the second. _
And there's a little twiddly bit right [D] here, _ _ which is [G] just some cloths and hammers.
For those of you
who haven't really touched on those much, it's [F] just plucking a string [G] and hammering your finger on,
there's a hammer, and to [C] pull [G] off your plucking and then [F] _ pull your finger [D] off. _ _
_ _ [F] So we pluck that
string open, [G] hammer our finger on, [F] _ _ pull it off, [E] _ and then we touch the fourth fret _ _ [F] on the _ _ _
[C] C string, which is an unusual chord like that, just because of the tuning.
There we go. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ So that's the little kind of hammer on [F] pull off thing for the intro.
Okay, so
from _ [G] _ _
there it gets a little simpler.
[F] You've got your chords, which is just _ three, _ _ [G] five, _ five, [A] four.
_ [F] _
_ _ _ So that's the first chord.
_ [G] _ _ Slide that shape up two frets, _ _ _ [F#] and then we go [F] to just holding the finger [C] on
the second string.
_ _ [G] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [F] So that's your _ _ _ _ _ [G] _ main_
_ _ _ _ [C] _ _ _ _
_ _ in between those is _ _
_ _ _ [G] two, [E] one, two, [F] four. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [G] _ _ _ _ _ _
The thing [C] is, we touch on the minor chord when _ _ [F] he says, really, the things that make you want to cry.
[G] _ Still find pieces _ [Am] of your presence _ _ [G] here.
When it goes [D] to zero, [A] two, four, and then they're still [F] open. _ _ _ _
_ But then we go straight back to the main thing. _
_ [G] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[F] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ Okay, _ there are little kind of twiddly bits in the song,
like the bit where we _ _ [C] have_ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ which is _ Colin's touching on the fourth fret of the second string up, _
and the seventh fret _ [Fm] of the third [C] string up.
So we're going _ to _ _ slide this first finger up one, _ _ _
and we slide that shape up two. _ _ _
There are a couple of other twiddly bits.
_ _ [F#] I'll link to a tab
just in a bit below, but [C] _ _
_ a lot of it is _ using the finger on the third string,
the third string up. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
Slide that one up. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [F] _ _
And that's pretty much the whole [G] reference.
[C] If you have any questions, _ just _ drop them below,
or send me a tweet if you want me to reply, because I'm more kind of hot on that than
YouTube replies. _ _
