Alright, hello to all of my viewers out there.
Jabar Brown coming at you again.
Today's lesson will be by Helen Miller, I Won't Let You Fall, and this is the original CD version from Helen Miller, Lean On Me, Time Is Winding Up, album.
Now, this song is in the key of G, and I'm using the Rhodes on the Roland RD-700SX, the SX Electric Piano 1 to be exact.
Alright, what I did with this lesson, we want to put emphasis on the keys.
So what I did was I made a little track just to kind of help us out and have a little bit of fun.
I added bass in the track, so we got the drum loop and then we also have the bass.
Alright, traditional song, so we're just going to try to have a little bit of fun with it.
There's just a few chords in the song, it's not really a lot, but [Db] there's a point where we're going to put emphasis on going into the verse [A] and your bass note will be, [B] for example,
[Em] Alright, [C]
[B] so going home, example would [D] be D, [G] [C] G, versus C.
[N] Alright, just for an example.
So we'll get to that, but before that, I'll play the track, play along with it, and then we'll break down some chords.
Alright, so here we go.
[Em]
[C]
[Em] [B]
[Em] [C]
[Bm] [Em]
[C]
[Em]
[C] [Eb]
[Em] [C]
[G] Alright, so there actually we did it.
[C] At one point we did, [Bbm] and at the other [C] point we did.
[G] Okay, alright, so let's dive right into the song.
You'll notice the bass [A] player.
[D] Alright, [Em] the two chords that I'm using here, in the left hand, it's a personal preference.
You can actually just use one note, [D]
D [Em] and E.
[D] We can use two fingers on the left hand, which is D and G flat with the chord of A, D, and G flat in the right hand.
[Bb] Okay, now at this point, I said you could also use [D] one note in the left hand.
In this case, it would be D.
[Em] Alright, now the next chord we have in the left hand, E.
And of course, you can just use E or we can add E and G along with B, E, and G in the right hand.
Alright, so the idea here, [B] [Ab] you'll notice we're trying to emulate, if you will, bending the notes as if a guitar player would do.
So what we want [Ebm] to do is use E flat and G flat [Em] and twang it up to E and G.
[D] Okay, [Am] [Em] in between that we have, [D] which is A, D, and G flat.
[Am] And we'll go to A and E in the left hand, or just A.
In the right hand we have G, C, and E.
