[N] [D#] Hey everybody, welcome to Traveling Uke.
I'm [A#] Brooke and you're watching [F] a three [A] chord lesson for
[F#] Kind of a 1960s [D#m] slow blues.
[F#] We're gonna get right to it
[A#] So I want to show you what [D#] this looks like and sounds like first
[F#] So you have an idea of like the style that I'm [G] talking about and you can see if it's something that interests [G#] you
This is based on [D#] Etta James' I'd Rather [G] Go Blind and Chris Stapleton's
[F#] Tennessee Whiskey [C] and
Just kind of messing around with this this week [A] inspired me to write
[Em]
Start writing a song that I call the [F] man bun blues.
I'm gonna [F#] play a little bit of that for you later
So you can see how you can use this as like an improv tool
Or just a jam if you're feeling [G#] if you're feeling the pain in your heart and you want to let it out
[A]
This is a great tool for that
[F#m]
Something told me it was over
[Bm] [G]
[D] When I saw you and that girl [A] talking
[F#m]
[F#] Something deep [A#] down in my soul said go [D] on and cry girl
[G]
And [D] I saw you standing
[A] Standing
[F#m] [A]
I'd [F#m] rather go [Bm] blind
[G] Than [Bm]
[D] to see you walk [C#m] away from the child
[F#m]
This blues Tennessee [Bm] whiskey
[D]
Oh
You're sweet [F#m] strawberry wine
[A]
Yours [F#] was
Glass brandy boy has taste
[Bm] [A] Chris [F#m] Stapleton you are so hard to sing
We can do it [G] so I just wanted to [F] give you a demo right away so you can see what I'm talking [G#m] about and
[B] See if you want to stick around.
So let's learn [G] the chords
We're using [A#] a the second string of the first fret the top string of the [A] second fret
B minor [F] the bottom [G] three strings of the second fret and the top string of the [Bm] fourth fret
[G] D so D is [D] the top three strings of the second fret [G] I play it [D] often with my thumb like this
[Am]
[B] So I'm using a pluck strum in the [F] demo I
Used a little bit of another strum.
So we're gonna kind of cover both of those [B] for a minute
So we're plucking the bottom three [C] strings one, two, [F#] three, and then you [C] strum down [D#] like [F#] this.
I'm gonna a
[A]
And I'm also muting with my [F#m] palm
[D] [F#m]
Another strum option [A] is
[F#m] Down
[A] Mute
[G] In the demo [B] also using kind of a more fancy variation of that one, [F#m] which is
So [A] [F] what we're gonna do with [G#] the [A] chords
A
Of the [A#] strum pattern whichever one you choose B [B] minor for three [G] and then on the last round of [B] the strum pattern
We're gonna [G] split it up over B [D] minor and
so what I was [F] doing in the demo is to just [Bm] play a down strum [D] for each of those [A] and
Then you're back [G] to a and we play a for two more rounds of the strum pattern
Before you start the whole thing over again, so we've got [A] a A
For two rounds then we go to B [Bm] minor
One more of a minor and now we're gonna strum down down
[A]
This is actually a [D] pretty good one for beginners you can use just a thumb strum [A] a
[Bm] B minor with just the B minor one more time.
We're gonna strum
[D]
[A]
You know start over
[G]
[Bm] Now down [D] D minor
[A]
No, you can't run your fingers through [G] remember
[Bm]
[D#] [Bm] Your fingers just gonna get stuck at the [A] base
[G] No, you [A] can't take that boy home to [D] your mama
[G]
[Bm] Cuz it look like
[C]
[Bm] [D] [A] [F#]
[A] So get your blues on man, you know [D] everybody
[D#m] Everybody feels the [G] pain sometimes
And you just gotta get let it out
[Bm]
[D] With you [A] you
Food is for [F#m] its musical therapy
[A] I'm saying and the [G] blues.
I'm just saying the blues [Bm] for no reason
[G] Cuz that's what [D] we're playing [E] today
[A]
Thanks for coming [F#m] by [D] everybody see you guys next time like share subscribe

We're using [A#] a the second string of the first fret the top string of the [A] second fret _ _
B minor [F] the bottom [G] three strings of the second fret and the top string of the [Bm] fourth fret
_ _ [G] D so D is [D] the top three strings of the second fret [G] I play it [D] often with my thumb like this
[Am] _
[B] So I'm using a pluck strum in the [F] demo I
Used a little bit of another strum.
So we're gonna kind of cover both of those [B] for a minute
So we're plucking the bottom three [C] strings one, two, [F#] three, and then you [C] strum down [D#] like [F#] this.
I'm gonna a
[A] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ And I'm also muting with my [F#m] palm
_ _ [D] _ _ [F#m] _ _
_ _ Another strum option [A] is _ _
_ [F#m] Down _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [A] Mute
_ _ [G] In the demo [B] also using kind of a more fancy variation of that one, [F#m] which is _ _ _ _ _ _

So [A] _ _ _ _ [F] what we're gonna do with [G#] the [A] chords
A
_ _ Of the [A#] strum pattern whichever one you choose B [B] minor for three [G] and then on the last round of [B] the strum pattern
We're gonna [G] split it up over B [D] minor and
so what I was [F] doing in the demo is to just [Bm] play a down strum [D] for each of those [A] and
_ Then you're back [G] to a and we play a for two more rounds of the strum pattern
Before you start the whole thing over again, so we've got [A] a A

[Bm] B minor with just the B _ _ _ minor one more time.
We're gonna strum
[D] _ _
_ [A] _ _ _ _ _ _
You know start over _ _ _ _ _

_ [Bm] Now _ _ down [D] D minor
_ [A] _ _ _ _ _ _ _

[G] _ _
[Bm] _ _ Cuz it look like
