[C] [G]
[C] [G]
[D] I try to come to Cornwall as much as I can really.
Anytime I come down here it's [B] never long enough.
[G] I'm down here for like four or five days, every [D] single day is jam-packed.
I get reminded how good it is.
I can feel in general it's moved on significantly from when I used to live here.
They're going to be [G] like, oh yeah, typical, you're late.
[D] I'm going to my old school, Trariglas [Am] Community College.
I'm going to speak to some [Dm] students in the [G] music classroom,
[D] see how they're getting on with how things have changed since I was at school,
and [C] maybe give them a bit of advice, might [D] play them a song.
I've wanted to come back here for a few years,
you know, appreciate [G] where I've come from basically.
[D]
[D]
How did you start your [G] career off?
[Am] Well for me, it [D] started [Eb] kind of at school,
because that's where you find out what you want to do roughly.
[D] I didn't think I'd be well known,
[E] I just thought I could play pubs and gigs,
[Ab] as long as I could earn some money [D] so I didn't have to be a chambermaid at Atlantic Hotel.
I had [Am] a little band that I started in school, like you guys,
just started playing in school,
and we were like, let's try and get some gigs and earn some money,
and I did that, and I was [Am] lucky, I met the right person at the right time.
I was playing open mic, where loads of people just get up and play,
[D] and I got spotted there, and then I went into a record company,
just with my [Am] guitar, went in,
I didn't do a showcase or anything like that,
I just went in with my guitar [D] and just sang to them,
and that's kind of how I got my foot in the door really, I was lucky.
[Am] What has so far been your greatest achievement?
The last album that I've wrote is [D] my most proud thing that I've done in my whole career.
Whether [Em] it's been gigs or I [Eb] think I've [G] done something musically that I'm really proud of,
[Db] and that's important.
How do you first off go [Am] about writing a song?
The most [G] important thing about writing songs is trying to write about something that you know,
and that you feel, a journey in your mind.
Maybe there's a girl that you fancy and you're like,
I've been looking [C] at you across the [D] room, hoping you'll notice me [G] one day.
Or whatever, you can [Bbm] make it your own, you just make it your [G] own.
It can be really simple, but as long as you're feeling what you're singing,
it'll make it a lot easier for other people to believe it.
I've got a song, it's called In My Dreams,
and I wanted to write a song, because I lost my dad, he died last year,
and I was really devastated when he died,
and I [N] wanted to write a song that would keep him alive, [G] in my dreams.
Yes I'll wait, I'll wait to see you, [Am] in my dreams.
[Em] Oh, I'm lost, [D] [A] oh, I'm
[Am] [Gb]
lost.
[D] [Am] Well I don't know where, and I don't know, I know I see your face [D] again, in my dreams.
[Em] Well I don't know where, and I don't know, I know I see your face [D] again, in my dreams.
[Am]
[D] [N]
How was it?
Yeah it was good, it was a totally different [G] experience than I've ever experienced guys.
[Em] I [Am] didn't think I'd ever be a role model when I was in school.
I wasn't a bad kid, but I wasn't good either, [D] you know.
But it feels nice to know that, I think, especially because I'm from this school,
[Am] they were listening, so yeah, good.
