Josh Smith - Blues Guitar Lesson - Diminished Lick - Bonus Lick #1 - Guitar Breakdown - How To Play chords
Start Jamming...
Josh Smith here again with GuitarBreakdown.com and here's one of my go-to just cool licks
with some diminished stuff in it.
It's in A and [Eb] here we go.
[A] [E] [F] [A]
[Eb] So that's kind of a diminished lick where I'm playing half step below the 5 to start
the lick and then I break into more into A.
[Gbm] [C] A [E] [E]
[A] [C] [A]
[Eb] lot of times I like to play this to get
all Charlie Parker on [Am] it.
[E]
[D] [Db] [B]
[Db] [A]
And same, my normal hybrid [Eb] picking.
[Gbm] [Ebm] [E]
[D] [C] [A] [B] [A]
[D] [Em] [A]
So this is kind of, you know, this was kind of inspired by some, just my little diminished
riffings when I was figuring out how to play just.
[Bm]
So I was going [Eb] [Am] [B] and I built it into a lick that, you know, stayed in A.
So [E] [A]
[Eb] you can break
out of it right there.
A lot of times I [Gbm] go and I'll [Ebm] break right out of it [A] after two notes.
Or [D]
you can go a little [E] bit further and [A] go.
[Ab] [Am] [Cm]
[A]
[Dbm] But it's a really handy little starting lick.
You know.
[C]
[Am] [Abm] [Gbm] [D] [Dbm]
[E] There you go.
Alright so I hope you guys really dug some of these little quick lick lessons.
It's just a small taste of a bunch of the licks involved in our lick package at Guitar Breakdown.
So once again I'm Josh Smith and come check them out at GuitarBreakdown.com.
