I just [C] remembered there's a doobie in my pocket, in my shirt, in my suitcase.
As I'm standing in line [G] to check into [C] my flight, and I'm trying to decide if I should get out of line.
But the line is really long [G] and I start thinking [C] about this song and about the hippie,
at the festival that gave me the doobie that is in my pocket, in my shirt, [Dm] in my suitcase.
[C] That I'm planning on checking to my final destination, which is another [G] festival with hippies and more doobies.
[C] So I don't really need the one that is in the pocket of my shirt, in [G] my suitcase.
I wonder if they'll find it [C] and I wonder what they'll do.
Depending on their mood, they can put it [F] in their pocket [G] of their TSA [C] shirt.
Or maybe their disgruntled can spark it where they stand.
Or maybe they will give it to their friend Steve the Cop, who will put it in [F] his pocket.
[C] And give it to the Rasta that works at the Starbucks by gate 39.
And hoping of continuing of receiving his free triple [Gm] tall Americana shots on [C] top.
That he desperately needs that extra caffeine.
So that he can walk the miles and miles of luggage with his female German shepherd.
That he named Ava Braun from the David Lindley song.
Or at [Gm] least that song that Lindley [C] does, I'm not really [F] sure.
[C] If David [F] Lindley wrote it, [C] but one thing is true.
Steve the Cop, he likes it.
Or maybe he will simply throw the doobie in the trash.
Avoid all the [G] paperwork and paint in the [C] ass.
And this is what is going through my brain.
As I exit the plane and walk to baggage [G] claim and pray for a key [D] change.
But the suitcase [G] never came [D] and I start to go insane.
As the patient [G] found my visions [A] of [D] Guantanamo Bay.
And no [G] need to drool, [D] man [G] everything is cool.
They found my suitcase [A] on the way to [G] Istanbul.
[D] And they got it just [G] in time, put it on the next [D] flight.
[G] Everything's okay, I [A] should receive it [D] the next day.
But once [G] again it never [D] came, and [G] once again I go insane.
Because it's time to go, [A] it's like an hour to the show.
[D] Without any traffic, and we did [G] not leave in time for it.
Now I've got rope rakes because it's my turn on the stage.
And I cannot deny the [D] sharp pain behind.
[G] [D] But I have to [G] stop and smile because [C#] I suddenly [Gm] realize.
[G] That I'm wearing the shirt [Am] with the [G] doobie in my body.
The [D] mood was never [G] in my [A] suitcase.
I was wearing [G] it the [D] whole time.
