So Rhythm Sessions, my new [Gm] album, [G#] 2012.
It's hard to [G] believe.
[Gm]
I don't know, [G#m] I'm [A#] into album
number [Cm] 45 here or [F#] something now.
I thought [B] what if we were to put together some of my
[B] favorite players and [Bm] specifically write music for them and feature them.
[F] So [Bm] we have various
[E] combinations.
The album starts out with a [Bm] tune called The Village that I wrote specifically
for this rhythm [F#] section of George [Bm] Duke, Stanley Clark, Dave [B] Weckl, and Mayungo [Bm] Jackson on
percussion.
It's kind of a perfect written hour [B] track that [D] [C#] touches on [E]
a lot of great
rhythm making [C] and melodic elements and [D#] yet [C] is centered around the soloing as well.

That tune [Fm]
I wrote already having the musicians [F] booked.
[B] [Cm] Within four days I [F#] had to come up
with two new songs [C] and The Village was one of them.
So sometimes I had the material ready
[Cm] in the beginning and picked a rhythm section to [Gm] fit it or I was [Cm] thinking about the rhythm
[D] section in advance [Cm]
[D] and other times [Cm] the rhythm section got booked and then I had to write
the material to fit that.
