[G] Yeah, and everybody was [C] really, [Em] you know, just friendly and accommodating, you know.
And like I just started talking guitars with [F] Nick and he just goes in this little closet
and pulls out [G] this old Sunburst Martin, you know, that is an amazing guitar and an old
[C] Gibson and we sit around and pick a [F] few things and it was awesome, [C] you know.
[G] It just feels like it's nice to go somewhere when you have high expectations and then they
raise the bar even [Am] further than that.
We [G] felt that today.
Yeah, I mean [Em] we've known about E-Town for so long and we really listen to Hot Rise all
the time and we knew that E-Town [C] was [G] Nick's thing and so it was an honor for us to come
here and be a part of this and [Am] yeah, it's always been on our [G] radar.
It's also cool to like walk on stage and see him behind the pedal still and then see him
playing the mandolin and he's [F] like, let me try that mandolin out and then I'm going to
play some [C] mandola.
Now let me [G] play some guitar too.
It's crazy, [Am] you know, because like, well [Ab] listening to Hot [C] Rise you're always just seeing him
[Ab] playing [G] electric bass [A] but [E] the man's layered [Am] in talent, I will say, and it's an honor to
be on stage [G] with him as [C] well.

This is one I wrote after a friend of mine went through a pretty bad divorce.
He calls me up and tells me that, you know, that his wife is leaving him and I said, well
man, I'm really sorry about that.
I'll write a song about it.
But it's my way of consoling people.
But I ended up writing the song from his ex-wife's perspective.
So what are friends for, right?
We're going to get Emily to sing this next song for you.
It's called There Was A Time.

Cause I'm [F] as bruised [Am] and [Em] angry [C] as I've ever been
