Start Jamming...
[E] [C]
[Dm] We like to do a lot of old [A] traditional tunes, [D] especially bluegrass [Ab] and old-timey stuff,
[A] so we figured [G] we'd do one of those.
[Am] [Bb] This is one we learned from a Doc Watson record [Ab] called Hey That Train.
One, [D] two.
[A]
[D] [Dm] [D]
[G]
[D]
Well, where were you when the train left town?
I was standing on the [A] corner with my head [D] hung down.
Hey that train, the camera girl from town.
[A] Hey, hey, [D] hey, hey.
Well, there's rations on the table, coffee's getting [Bm] [D] cold.
Somebody rather stole my jelly roll.
Well, hey [Dm] that train, [D] the camera girl from town.
Hey, [A] hey, [G] hey, [D] hey.
[Am] [Dm]
[D]
[A] [G]
[D] [Am]
Well, [D] there's ashes to ashes and dust to dust.
Won't you show me a [A] woman that a [G] man can [D] trust.
Well, hey [A] that train, [D] the camera girl from town.
Hey, [A] hey, hey, [G] hey.
[D] Have you seen my girl?
Someone bring her back.
She's had her hand in my mug.
Well, hey [Dm] that train, [D] the camera girl from town.
Hey, hey, hey, hey.
Well,
[A] [D]
[A] [D]
[A] [G]
[B] [D]
it's enough to make you lonesome, enough to make you moan.
This is how she sounded [A] as the [Dm] train rolled on.
[D]
Whoooo, whooooo, whooooo.
[Dm] [D]
[N]
[E] We met at a bluegrass jam in Chapel Hill.
Every week there was [Am] this little burrito place that we'd all show up to
and play a bunch of bluegrass tunes for about [E] four hours.
So Emily and I [Am] happened to show up to the jam [Abm]
one night.
I'd never met her before, and [Am] she'd never met me before.
but she uh, you know, we sat beside each other and just attracted musically [D] and um,
[A]
and [D] uh, we we sang some of the [N] same tunes, you know, so we happened to, you know, I'll just say
what key do you want to do it in?
She'd say, let's do it in G.
So we did in G and you know,
and she'd sing the chorus when the chorus came and [Db] the harmonies just felt really natural and
it just came [E] together that first night and so we ended up after the jam [N] going and having a few
beers and then playing music to about 2 30 in the morning and so I was, I guess that was kind of
how it all got started was that [G] one night.
