Joey was rehearsing at our shop, which totally blew my fucking mind.
And to see him in our shop, I still can't get over it.
But we rehearsed like four songs, and then of course my brother had to surprise him with
Marky coming up and playing Blitzkrieg Buck with him in the last song.
You know?
And I don't know if he knew that they were fighting.
I didn't know they were fighting.
And then before the show, I'm in the dressing room in Roseland, one of them little small ones downstairs.
And I'm in there with Daniel Ray, the guy who did the two Michael Graves' Misfit records,
the producer.
And we're bullshitting, you know, and I'm getting ready.
And Marky's in the room with us, so we're all fucking bullshitting.
The door opens up and there's Joey, and he's standing there like Boris Karloff in Frankenstein,
like that scene.
And I look at him and he's fucking fuming.
He's like so mad.
And then Marky's there staring each other down, and I'm like, holy fuck, I'm going to
have to grab both of these dudes in the headlock, two of my childhood heroes, and take them
to the fucking ground.
So I'm flipping out, just thinking about that.
I'm like, oh my god, okay.
So I'm getting ready to do it, and Daniel walks in between them and pulls a cigarette
out and taps it on his cigarette thing.
He's like, do you guys know each other?
And he just stopped.
I was like, holy shit, it was this close.
I said, what are you going to do?
Not to fight each other?
I have to choke them both.
I remember that night.
Doyle said that he felt like he was ready to break up a fight, like a fist fight that
was going to happen.
It would have taken more than Doyle.
We just finished Joey's album, me and him.
Don't worry about me.
Don't worry about me.
He always wanted to do a solo album.
And I didn't have the time to complete the whole album.
I only did half of it, because I had my own band at the [Db] time.
I was touring around with my group, The Intruders.
So the thing was, he got upset.
He took it personal, and then he started saying shit about me, and then I started saying shit about him.
Petty, stupid, squabbling [E] things that were ridiculous.
So, it came to a head that night in that room, [B] in the basement [Dbm]
of Roseland.
Okay.
So, in the end, we made up, and everything was fine.
And that was it.
That's what Doyle was talking about.
