Chords for Michael Fix 'unlearns' Classical Gas, learns Tommy Emmanuel version

Hi everyone, I'm Michael Fix.
_ Recently I posted a video of a solo performance of
Classical Gas and I thank you for your comments too by the way and if you
haven't seen that clip I'll put the link up here.
But in that video I talked [G] a
little bit about the [E] experience of [G] learning the song from the original
[Am] recording and the feeling of well it's kind of like [Gb] being 15 years [Em] old again
the excitement of hearing [Am] Classical Gas for the [Em] first time and learning it.
My
ears back then were not as well developed as [D] now and [E] so recently when I
had a chance to revisit it [Gb] it was [C] really [G] fantastic experience to [Gb] to get into the
[D] detail of that tune [Gb] and work it out and try and get [Em] it as close as possible to
the [E] original recording.
Pretty soon after that I [Gb] found in my box of [G] old VHS [E] video
tapes I found a performance of Classical Gas from about [G] 20 years ago which [E] I'm
going to [B] show you as part of this [Am] video.
It was a spectacular [E] event filmed at
[G] Darling Harbour in Sydney, a big outdoor [D] concert there were about [Am] I think from
[Em] memory over 200,000 people [Am] _ _ [G] and this _ [Gb]
was [E] a _ [Em] performance with an [Am] orchestra _ [Bm] and it
happened to be Tommy [Em] Emmanuel's version of Classical Gas [E] and in fact it was
Tommy's gig that [G] I was stepping into for some reason that he was double booked or
something but I had [Gb] to learn the Tommy Emmanuel arrangement of Classical Gas
which he'd [C] recorded with an orchestra just a few years earlier so I had to
[Am] unlearn _ my version of Classical [B] Gas that I'd been playing for many years and had
[Bm] evolved and changed from the [E] Mason Williams version.
_ I had to unlearn all of
that, [Am] learn the new version to the [C]
standard where I could [A] perform it with
the orchestra because there's there's [E] no room for improvisation or anything [A] it's
you have to play it exactly [Bm] according to what the orchestra [E] have in their music
in front of them and it was just a one-off performance and the other memory
[Am] I have of that particular [Em] event was the weather wasn't that great and [Am] in our
rehearsal it started to rain so [Em] we literally had one run-through of the
song which served [D] to be a sound check as [G] well.
It was a very [Em] exciting event I [D] was
really thrilled to [B] rediscover this again here we go check it out _
