Hi, my name is Rosemary Siemens and thank you [E] so much for watching Sunday Hymn Serenade,
where I [B] share a new hymn video every [F#] Sunday at [B] 10am Eastern on YouTube.
I hope you enjoyed this beautiful and touching hymn, It Is Well With My Soul, with my friend
Calvin Dick on violin.
We recorded this as [F#] a tribute for a dear [E] friend, Beth Nicol, [F#] who recently passed away into [B] eternity.
[F#] Beth was a wonderful [G#m]
wife, mother of [G] three young [G#m] children, [C#]
an incredible [F#] musician, amazing
violist, violinist, and she was an incredible woman of God as well.
Beth and I [B] kind of grew up together in our college days.
We went [E] to the same university, University of British Columbia, for our [C#] undergrads.
And she was [F#] an amazing friend to me.
We [E] spent so much time together.
[B] The loss is so [E] huge.
[B] Sometimes it's not in the [F#] timing that we can understand.
[B]
But God sees all, and we have to put our trust and our faith in Him.
The composer of this hymn, Horatio [F#] Spatford, also went through great tragedy.
He lost his four children on [B] a shipwreck.
And he later went through [E] that same place where they [C#m] perished.
And he went down [B] to his cabin to write the words, [F#] It Is Well With [B] My Soul.
When I watched my friend Beth's memorial service, one thing rang true.
She knew where she was going.
She was going to see [E] her Lord [B] and Savior.
And she said, no matter what [F#] will be, [E] will be, It is [F#] well with my [B] soul.
[F#] How she lived [G#m] her life is how we [G] should all [G#m] live our [C#] lives.
[F#] This is just a temporary home.
We are waiting for our eternal home with our Lord [B] Jesus Christ.
I am so thankful for the time [E]
spent with my friend Beth.
I know [C#] so many others have gone through great tragedies [F#] this last year.
And I hear from [B] so many people that are hurting.
And I [E] pray that this song [B] just touches your [F#] soul.
And this is for each and [B] every one of you, that you may feel peace.
And know that if you accept the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart and
[F#] ask forgiveness of your sins, you have no worries.
You will be with God [B] in eternity when you die.
Whenever [E] our time comes, [B] we can know and
[F#] have that great assurance [B]
that we will spend eternity with Him.
I pray if this song was a blessing or if someone needs to hear this [F#] message,
you share it with a friend in hopes that it is a great blessing to them as well.
