What's good [Am] YouTube my name is Carlton Maybell aka True Music and today I'm going to teach
you how to play Ballin by Mustard featuring Roddy Ricch.
This song is in the key of G major.
I have sheet music for it on my Facebook page and I'll post a link to that in the description
if you want to find that.
This song is very simple.
It's not a whole lot of chords and it's very simple chords.
And so I'm going to get into this tutorial.
If you like this content please like, comment, and subscribe to the channel.
Now let's get into it.
I'm going to play some of this song for you and then I'm going to show you how to play it.
It sounds like this.
I put the new [Bm] 4G's on my [C] whip.
I [Bm] put the new [Am] [Bm] [C]
[Bm] [Am] 4G's [Bm] [C]
on my whip.
[Bm] [Am]
[Bm] [C] [Am] So that's pretty much how the song sounds.
I'm not going to sing too much of it but you get an idea of what you're getting into.
So let's get right into this song.
Like I said this song is in the key of G major and it's very simple.
So what we're going to do is we're going to start right here on an A minor 7.
Left hand is going to hit an A in the [A] bass.
Right hand is going to hit an A, [Am] C, E, G.
Alright that's your first chord.
Then for [Bm] your second chord you're going to go right here to a B minor 7.
[B] Left hand is going to do a B in the bass.
Right hand is going to do a B, [Bm] D, F sharp, A.
That's your second chord.
And then [C] your third chord goes to a C major 7.
Left hand doing a C in the bass.
Right hand doing a C, E, G, B.
Alright so that's your third chord.
Now what we're going to do from here is your left hand is going to stay on this C.
You're going to hit this C major 7 again.
Alright so once you hit it again then you're going to hit a C major chord.
So you're going to take the 7 off and just hit the C major chord.
So we're going to go.
Alright and then we're going to finish [Bm] by walking back down.
[Am] Alright so when I say walk back down I mean go to your B minor [Bm] 7.
Your left hand is going to do a B.
Right hand is going to do a B, D, F sharp, A.
[Am] And then you're going to finish right where you began on an A minor 7.
Right hand is going to do an A [A] in the bass.
Right hand is going to do [Am] A, C, E, [C] G.
[Am] Alright that finishes the whole loop.
I hope I didn't make it confusing.
What I'm going to do is I'm going to play it for you very slowly
to try to make sure that it's crystal clear.
The song sounds like this.
[Bm] [C]
[Bm] [Am] Alright one more time.
[Bm] [C]
[Bm] [Am]
Alright now that is the song.
That is the loop.
It just repeats and repeats and repeats.
But what we're going to do to give it more oomph
is when the song gets a little bit more powerful
what you're going to do is you're going to play actives in your left hand.
So you're going to keep the same bass line except you're going to do actives now.
So we're going to go.
[Bm] [C]
You feel how that's giving it more power?
[Bm] [Am] Alright that [Bm] [C] gives it way more sound.
[Bm] Alright [Am] and then you can take it back down.
[Bm] [C] You know what I'm saying?
And make it smooth again.
So that's how you want to mix the song up.
When it has more power, more oomph, you want to do actives with your left hand.
But then when you take it back [Bb] down and kind of you know what I'm saying
when he starts getting in his bag
you're going to play the single notes in your left hand
to kind of bring the tempo back down a little bit.
You know what I'm saying?
And then once you want to get live again you do your actives.
So I hope that's really clear.
And I also hope that you all enjoy this content and the tutorials.
