Ok [N]
now I'll play the solo for you.
I'm going to break this solo down into 11 separate licks that I'm going to dissect for
you and show you how to play this slide guitar standard tuning solo in the key of A.
Ok so lick 1 sounds like this.
[A] [D]
[A] [N] Ok and that is lick 1.
Pretty cool lick there.
You know in the key of A we're starting on the major 3rd 14th fret of the B string.
Just slide into that twice.
Slide backwards to the [G] 12th fret.
[E] Then 14.
14 [F#] on the D [G#] string.
Then 14 on the G [F#m] string.
Then you slide it up to 17th fret.
[D] So you have [A]
[G#] [N] a pretty simple lick there.
Then we got this Warren Haynes style move.
You slide backwards to the 15th fret on the [Dm] B string.
[D]
[G] [F#] 15, 17.
[F] [D]
Then you're going to hit 17 and [B] slide backwards up [D] to 14.
[A] And hit 14, the root note A on the [N] G string.
So the whole lick slowly.
[G] [A] [Bm]
[F#m] And that is lick number 1.
And let's go ahead and move on to lick number 2.
It sounds like this.
[N]
