Start Jamming...
[Bb] Okay, [F] ready?
And roll camera.
Hey, I'm Spencer.
I'm Brendan, and we are [Dm] Panic!
at the Disco.
We are filming a first music video for our new [B] record.
[E]
It's for a [Am] song called The Ballad of Mona Lisa.
[A] She paints her fingers with her clothes,
but in the sun she stops to notice
[Am] The concept is a little multi-faceted.
The large [B] majority of it is based on the rules of a wake,
a traditional Irish wake.
So Brendan leads the band in the [Em] celebratory nature [Am] of the wake.
A speaker in a conversation
[F] [Dm] Hoards of swimming through his ears
The sort of hitch here is that Brendan has a dual personality.
[Bm] He makes a series of [Am] transitions throughout the video
where he actually turns [B] into an alter ego,
[G] which [F] is essentially the ghost [C] of the deceased.
[Gm] It's much harder being [E] a ghost than you would think, to be honest.
No [Gm] one can see you.
No one can prove [F] you exist.
[C] You can't have sex.
You can't eat.
I [Eb] mean, these are [E] major points here.
I'm only getting a taste of it today.
[Gb] [F] Shane [A]
[G] [F]
[C] has always been an awesome collaborator
and turning a [E] modest budget into a big production.
[Am] I can also say not many directors get really excited with their [C] cast.
You get all kind of [Am] crazy in there.
He actually gets up and moves around and runs up the [D] stairs.
When you get way out [Am] here and you get crazy, it's [Dm] awesome.
Every time we've worked [Am] with Shane Drake,
[Bm] he has just [Am] made me feel better and better about doing the scenes
and you can get more out of it.
[A] Nothing left to sell him.
That second, down, down, down, down, down, down, down,
is when you're going to come off.
[F] Just finished shooting [C] a performance shot.
It was in my lab.
[E] This right here is the electric immobilization [G] unit.
It was [F] flipping switches, lights are going on, Tesla coils [C] are turning.
And the jet pack, of course, [E] shoots out balls of fire.
[F]
[Am] [G]
She [F]
[C] [E]
killed [Am] me.
[F]
He was my lover [Am] and I don't know why I decided,
but I just was [E] like, you're done and [A] I'm going to [B] kill you.
I was [C] thinking poison.
Poison, I mean, I look like it's poison.
There's tons of poison [E] things around here.
So, [Am] yeah, I poisoned him.
All of a sudden, the ghost of my [C] beetroved appears
and nobody can see him [Ab] except for this little kid
who [Am] is told to go look [B] in the dead [F]
man's pocket.
In her pocket, [C] there's a note that says that Mary did it.
[E] Everybody finds [F] out and I don't know what happens next,
but I [E] believe something bad happens to me.
[Am]
[G] [F] [Am] Ballad of Mona [Em] Lisa, check it out.
It's going to be awesome.
[B] I have to get back and sing with the band.
[E] So, check you guys later.
[F]
[A] [G]
[F]
[C] [E]
[F] Can't
[A] [G]
[F] wait for you guys [C] to check out this new video
for Panic!
at the Disco for Mona Lisa.
It's going to be [E] a smash.
[A] Enjoy.
This is already my favorite video shoot.
[Am] It's just the best time.
You get to hang out with your friends
and people that are into music just like [Dm] you.
It's really [Am] comfortable.
I'm afraid [E] to go out of the house sometimes,
[Am] but it's like extended family.
[A] Cut!
Magic!
